Day of Giving - Update from the Parish

The outpouring of love and support for the St. Barnabas 100th Anniversary Day of Giving has been nothing short of extraordinary. We've been overwhelmed by the generosity and dedication of each and every member of our community. We are thrilled to share that we raised over $160,000 in 72 hours.

The school families far surpassed their challenge, with more than 200 school families donating!  St. Barnabas student donations surpassed their goal 4x to raise $4,464.27. Grade 4 raised the most and unlocked the challenge to duct tape Mr. Stack to the wall and Grade 1 had 100% participation from every student in the grade.

The link to contribute will remain open through April. Thank you so much for the support!

Fall Sports Registration & Tryouts

Registration is opening in the next few weeks for Fall 2024 sports! Families are asked to register in late April - May so we can be fully prepared with uniforms and coaching staff when the leagues begin in August. Opportunities available for Girls Basketball (Grades 3 - 8), Football (Grades 4 - 8), Cheer (Grades 4 - 8), Soccer (PK - 8), and Golf (Grades 5 - 8).

Girls' Basketball tryouts for Grades 6 - 8 will be held on April 28. One additional day of tryouts will be added to the calendar (date coming soon).

We want to thank our league coordinators and coaches and look forward to an awesome fall season for our Buckeyes.

THANK YOU

It takes a village, and we have a number of people to thank this week!

Thank You Starbucks and Sherry Chatz - As many of you know, our local Starbucks at 103rd and Longwood is closed for renovation. School parent Sherry Chatz had the wonderful idea to ask if they would be willing to donate their furniture to St. Barnabas. With their generous furniture donation, we were able to set up a few different spots throughout the building for collaborative work and breaks. Our teachers have a few refreshed table and chair areas in their break rooms, our Main Hall has a new little waiting space, and our 2nd floor has a large table for collaborative work. Thank you Starbucks!

Thank You Alec Shelley - Alec donated some incredible planter containers for our outdoor classroom space. Furnishing the outdoor space has been on our wish list for a few years and Alec’s donation will allow us to make the space inviting and welcoming for our community to enjoy.

Thank You Nora Gill - Nora coordinated the Notre Dame Jazz Band at school last week. Our band students were able to enjoy dinner with the Notre Dame group before their shared concert. Thank you Nora.

Thank You Parents - The FSA helped spread the word that our staff break room was very low on snacks and beverages. Thank you to the many parents who have been showering our staff with treats this week - we feel so appreciated.

Thank You Jim Pfeiffer - Jim coordinated the Junior High Science Fair. Thank you to Jim for leading the efforts to secure judges from area high schools and managing the evening; we are grateful for your time and dedication. A big thanks to all the parents who came out to enjoy the fair.
