If they voted yes, please immediately shoot them a thank you email and make a call to their office to let them know that their loyalty for horse welfare has not gone unnoticed and we honor their stand.
If they voted no, please immediately send them an email expressing your dismay and shock that they would support the use of our precious tax dollars on slaughtering horses. And ask them to explain what motivated their vote. It is important to be polite, as frustrating as it is. They will have this issue come before them again so this is our chance to understand what happened."

Contact your Senators
and let them know how you feel. If you agree that horse slaughter is cruel, not an accepted practice in the United States, and not an area where you want your valuable tax dollars to be spent, then contact your Senator and let her/him know to vote in favor of defunding USDA meat inspectors for horse slaughter plants in the United States!
