The Artisan Lounge Hosts Gallery Reception
and Open Studios for DWNTWN Art Days
The Artisan Lounge, a downtown art studio and gallery space, is participating in DWNTWN Art Days September 7 & 8, 2012. In addition to a Gallery Reception Friday, Sept 7th, 7-9 PM, they will have Open Studios from 10 AM to 9 PM at 500 NE 1st Ave Miam, FL 33132, with free parking off 5th Street. Events are free and open to the public. The art exhibit "Synthesis" by Sri Prabha and Charles Falarara will be open by appointment the duration of September. This is an opportunity to experience a unique artistic setting in the middle of Downtown Miami, inside a historic church building, Christ Fellowship, who hosts and subsidizes space for 26 local emerging artists. Sri Prabha utilizes scientific iconography and recent discoveries to create colorful mixed media works that examine humanity's various levels of integration with nature, our origins, and the cosmos. Discoveries made by the Hubble Telescope and deep sea exploration vehicles are some of the scientific information Prabha utilizes in his mixed media works. Photos and scientific data collected by these research tools are manipulated and transformed into evocative personal and universal experiences.
Charles Falarara's drawings explore and transcend shades of black and white, luring the viewer's imaginative subconscious mind to reference living things. His imaginative world of alien forms attribute human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena.
