, you know those moments. The ones when you have to pinch yourself to remember that it's really happening. That THIS is real life? 

Yeah. Like that time I played mouth trumpet on NPR...

WHAT?

Yep, that totally happened. It's pretty crazy really. That I would be invited to the National Public Radio mothership in D.C., to chat into snazzy mics with one of the coolest people on the planet -- Monika, the Director of All Things Considered -- about music, life, songwriting, armadillos, mouth trumpet... 


The segment aired last Friday -- Good Friday -- and then something totally unexpected happened. This little Tejana indie artist skyrocketed 
from virtual anonymity to 
#1 on Amazon Latin chart and #5 on iTunes Latino
above artists like Shakira, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Santana... 

And the coolest part about it? The fact that there are still radio waves out there for indie artists like me. That there are people like Monika out there who are passionate about giving indie musicians a chance. And there are people like you who tune in to public radio and then act in support.

That YOU have the power to move an indie artist to the top. 
Because your voice matters.

Touring the East Coast was amazing! Great stages and quality time with friends, old and new. This weekend (April 26 & 27), I'm excited to play a festival I discovered (and fell in love with) last year -- Festival International de Louisiane -- tell your friends in Louisiana I'm coming!
 
For those in Austin, the full band and I are stoked to headline our own 
Pecan Street Festival on Saturday, May 3 AND to play the
official Pachanga Fest After Party at Gypsy Lounge on Saturday, May 10!
