Congregational Meeting Monday, May 20

Pastor Wil will be going over the work of the UMC General Conference and you will have the opportunity to provide feedback to help guide our church forward. Look for more details about the meeting in Pastor Wil’s Friday “In The Loop” email.

SERVING OTHERS

FOOD BUCKETS - Concord will once again be participating in the Holston Conference Hands-on Mission Project and provide food buckets to the Zimbabwe Ishe Anesu Project for Underprivileged Children. Our goal is to put together 50 buckets. If you would like to help fund this project, you can "purchase" a bucket for $50 or half a bucket for $25. This will pay for the food (canned chicken, sugar, flour, rice, dried beans, dried milk and vegetable oil), bucket, lid, and shipping. You can give online at concordunited.org/give and select Food Buckets or with a check with Food Buckets in the memo line. Right now, we are about half way to our goal.

ELK GARDEN FAMILYN MISSION TRIP - Join Missions as they travel to Elk Garden School Community Ministry in Rosedale, VA (near Lebanon). We’ll depart the church on Thursday, June 27 and return Saturday, June 29. Teams will be making repairs to the building and working in the community gardens, stocking the pantry and a wide variety of other tasks.  Deadline for the Early Bird discount has been extended to May 22. Cost is $100 by May 22 and $125 after.

OPERATION BACKYARD – May 30-June 1 - Our students will be working in the community with Operation Backyard Thursday, May 30 thru Saturday, June 1 building access or wheelchair ramps. Operation Backyard will set us up with a work site and all the materials we’ll need but the students need adults to work alongside them. They will also be working on a few projects at Wesley House. Could you help supervise or with them? If so, click here to sign up.

MAY PANTRY NEEDS - Cooking Oil, Canned Meals (Ravioli, SpaghettiOs, Beef Stew), Toothpaste, Cereal (no sugar added). You can also give a monetary donation to help with items the pantry purchases.
