Island Art Fair and Ledge Craft Lane are seeking artists and vendors for their juried 50th annual "Island Art Fair" held at Island Park in Grand Ledge, Michigan. All art and craft items must be created by the exhibitor. Exhibitors are chosen by the art fair committee. Space is limited so early registration is recommended. Deadline: June 1, 2023.

The 2023 Congressional Art Competition is now open! A wonderful opportunity for young Michiganders to showcase their talent and gain recognition for their work, the contest is open to students in grades 9-12 who reside or attend school in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District.
Winning submission will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year alongside works from across the country, and its artist will be invited to attend a ceremony in Washington, D.C. later in the summer. Deadline: April 17, 2023. SHARE WITH YOUR YOUNG ARTISTS!

Grosse Pointe News in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, announces a call to all Michigan artists for their "Fresh Takes" art contest. Awards include, $1000 1st prize; $500 2nd prize; $500 Gretchen Valade Spirit Award; $500 Readers' Choice Awards. There are three areas of focus this year: Photography, Digital Art and a sneaker art category. Deadline: April 7, 2023.

ARC Gallery in Chicago, Illinois, seeks entries for its juried sculpture exhibition, "Motley Cruise." This is a call for sculpture in any form. Works can be either indoor or outdoor. All sculptural mediums are welcome and non-traditional mediums are encouraged. Deadline: April 16, 2023.

The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin, invites submissions to its annual juried "Birds in Art" exhibition. The exhibition has showcased the remarkable talents of more than 1,000 international artists since 1976 and is recognized globally as the exhibition setting the standard for avian art. Artists working in all mediums other than photography can submit up to two original artworks interpreting birds and related subject matter. Deadline: April 17, 2023.

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium in Toledo, Ohio, announces a call to artists for "Wild about Art," a two-day art fair held Aug. 12-13, 2023. Eligible media include the following: ceramics, drawing, painting, glass, jewelry, mixed media, metal working, photography, printmaking/graphics, sculpture, textiles and wood. Work does not have to be animal related. Deadline: April 24, 2023.

The Artists Thrive! team will seek to find out how we all feel using words like: silenced, struggle, survive and thrive, using a variety of probing questions and innovative approaches to get us thinking. We're excited to announce that we're participating in the Community Foundation's inaugural 35 Days of Giving online fundraiser. The event kicks off at 7 a.m., May 3, 2023, and runs until 6 p.m., May 4. We are looking for ambassadors to help spread the word.
