3 things to know

1. Donate to the PTSA! We are in the process of finalizing our budget for the year, and we would like to bolster our support for our classroom teachers. Consider becoming a PTSA Champion with a $500 donation. Our Langley families are generous and enable us to support the Langley community and our educators with requests for programming and educational materials throughout the year. Thank you for your generosity! Donate here -- any amount is very appreciated!

2.The first PTSA general membership meeting is Wed before Back to School Night at 5pm in the auditorium. Plan to be there!

3. Deadlines are quickly approaching: read below for your child's classes deadlines. Freshmen especially, you won't want to miss the dinner and orientation (previously held before school starts) on Tues, Sept 3. Ticket deadline is today! Underclass parents -- see Class Notes, deadlines for class-specific and homecoming t-shirts are approaching!

what's new in the ptsa?

The PTSA adopted new Standing Rules in the spring that changed the officer structure and added new volunteer positions. We changed our Vice President titles to more accurately align with our priorities. Our first Vice President is now the VP of School Support (Margaret Brown), since supporting Langley students and staff is our first priority! Second, we added a VP of Volunteer Engagement (Sara Koenig) to maximize opportunities for parents to get involved at any level – from volunteering just one time and one-off opportunities to being more engaged on a committee or year-round position. Sign up here and share your availability and preferences! We merged the VP Membership with the previous VP of Fundraising (Melissa Schwartz) since those activities are very aligned at Langley, and our VP of Communication (Kristi Grgeta) is working to update the ways in which the PTSA gets information out (make sure to follow us on Instagram and check out developments on our updated website!).

Other new volunteers are involved in supporting our school, and supporting our families in various ways, including focusing on our alumni and military families. Reach out if you have any suggestions of ways the PTSA can support Langley! You can reach us at ptsalangley@gmail.com.

We are also trying out a zoom option for our general meetings, and our October meeting will be on a Friday in hopes of getting more parents who work from home Fridays to come in person. Our meetings typically start with a Q&A with Principal Greer or another administrator and include programming about how to help support your student through high school.

Save the dates for our general meetings:

Sept 4 at 5pm before Back To School Night (Auditorium)

All others start with an 8:30 am coffee/social and 9 am meeting start time:

• Fri, Oct 18

• Dec 11

• Feb 5

• Mar 26

• May 14

Stay tuned to eNews for more details on upcoming events and meetings.

ptsa donations and membership

Donate to the PTSA! We are in the process of finalizing our budget for the year, and we would like to bolster our support for our classroom teachers. Please consider becoming a PTSA Champion with a $500 donation. Our Langley families are generous and enable us to support the Langley community and our educators with requests for programming and educational materials throughout the year. Thank you for your generosity! Donate here -- any amount is very appreciated! One hundred percent of your donations are used for the Langley High School community.

Note, this year we reduced the amount for membership so that you recognize the $7 membership fee goes outside of Langley -- the $7 goes to the state/local and national PTA organization.

Membership entitles you to vote at our meetings, but it is not required to attend our events, volunteer or request funds. If you want to support Langley and the programming at Langley, please donate! Click here to support the PTSA.
