GREETINGS FROM SPARTAN LANE

Another long weekend fast approaches, along with a professional development session for our faculty and staff. Happy Easter to you—I hope you enjoy a long weekend with your loved ones. Be safe out there and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to campus on Tuesday, April 2.

I continue to be amazed by the accomplishments of our students both in and out of the classroom. As Mr. Patterson often said, “They do good work!” Today our eighth graders are participating in their annual Model United Nations event, presenting, voting, and passing resolutions with help from the Upper School MUN team. Yesterday, many of us enjoyed learning more about our national parks as our third graders presented their work to parents, teachers and friends in Barrett Hall. Earlier in the week, I learned that one of our juniors was accepted into the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program for science. Our first Capstone Program cohort continues to share their findings of their work, and it is impressive to learn from them. Our Middle Schoolers are starting to think about the upcoming talent show and I look forward to seeing what talents will be showcased on the Bertelsmann stage. Our Upper School thespians are excited to present The Addams Family from April 25-27. Next Thursday we’ll see the dress rehearsal for the pre-first play in Harrison and later that evening we will celebrate the arts at Luminaria at Wire Park. Come join us for one or more of these events. At the same time, we have a number of athletic contests on campus and several of our spring teams have big aspirations to make deep runs into the state playoffs. Read more.

FROM THE DIVISIONS

Spring has brought some amazing awards and recognition for our student-artists!

Our Spartan teams are performing at a very high level and should see state playoff quality results with their region/area performances!

April is National Stress Awareness month. Most of us, however, are aware of our stress in the other months as well.

We have had another strong year at local favorites like UGA and GA Tech, and students have been offered admission to selective institutions like Vanderbilt, West Point, U Chicago, UVA, and Swarthmore.
