Council begins planning for new restaurant tenant at Country Club


At their April 25 meeting, the Council appointed four residents to various boards and committees, approved a rule limiting electronic attendance by board and committee members at their meetings, discussed finding a new restaurant operator for the Country Club (because Farmer's Table announced they will not renew their lease), and took other action. The discussion about Farmer's Table begins at 1:46:05.

Council holding Special Meeting Wednesday about former Twin Cities site


The Council will hold a Special Meeting on Wednesday, May 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Village Hall to discuss the property at the southwest corner of U.S. 1 and Northlake Boulevard (former Twin Cities Mall site). Public welcome to attend, and the meeting will be streamed online.

PZAB and Lake Park to hold joint meeting Thursday to review Twin Cities site requests


The Village Planning, Zoning and Adjustment Board and the Lake Park Planning and Zoning Board will hold a joint meeting on Thursday, May 2 to review a variance request and a site plan application for the property at the southwest corner of U.S. 1 and Northlake Boulevard (former Twin cities Mall site). The meeting will be held at the Lake Park Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. The address is 535 Park Avenue, in Lake Park.

Earman/U.S. 1 bridge project delayed for several months


The Florida Department of Transportation recently notified the Village that their contractor for the U.S. 1/Earman River bridge replacement project has terminated their contract. As a result, the project will not begin for several more months (it was supposed to begin this month).


The Village is continuing to work with FDOT and others to establish a revised plan to get the project back on track as quickly as possible. Updates will be provided in this eNews and in Village social media when a suitable, clear plan is in place.

Tennis lessons temporarily moved to Anchorage Park


Because of construction, the North Palm Beach Country Club tennis instructors will be providing lessons and clinics at the Anchorage Park tennis courts from May 6-July 10.


Please call the NPBCC Tennis Center at (561) 691-3425 for scheduling and times.

Water service will be temporarily shut off at Anchorage Park Monday


The indoor and outdoor restrooms at Anchorage Park will be closed on Monday, April 29 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. while SUA replaces valves in the main waterline in the neighborhood. Please plan any outing to the park accordingly.

Earth Day event and Bird Village grand opening was a success!


The grand opening of Bird Village and the Earth Day event last Saturday were a big success thanks to the efforts of the Village Environmental Committee and the many adults and children who attended. And we've got some great photos to prove it! Check them out at the link provided.

Legal Notices will now be posted on PBC webpage


The Village is now using Palm Beach County’s designated Legal Notice webpage for publication of legal notices. This new process is compliant with Section 50.0311(6) of the Florida Statutes.


Under the new law with this County webpage service, it is no longer required for the Village to publish legal notices in local newspapers as in the past. There are no notices posted at the current time, but the new website will be used as the need arises.

Bay, Captain, Gulf, Driftwood Roads and Ebbtide Drive, you're up next for repaving


The next round of residential street paving work begins Monday, April 29. Residents on Bay Road, Captains Road, Driftwood Road, Ebbtide Drive, Flotilla Lane and Flotilla Road, and on Gulf Road are asked to keep cars and trash off the road, and sprinklers turned off.


Also, please stay off the areas where black "tack" has been applied until the final asphalt layer is complete.

Expect delays at Parker Bridge Monday, Tuesday, Friday


There will be single lane closures on the Parker Bridge for maintenance work on Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30, and on Friday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.


The closures will affect one lane of the northbound and southbound sides, but will not be done simultaneously.


Delays are expected, so please consider finding an alternate route during the affected hours and drive carefully in the area.

Do you know a business that's doing something great?


The Village Business Advisory Board has a new program to recognize outstanding businesses that are helping make the community "The Best Place To Live Under The Sun." Nominations are now being accepted for "Business of the Season," with the goal to encourage business success locally, whether for-profit or 501(c)(3).

 

Businesses selected for the award will get a certificate to display, and will be mentioned in future eNews blasts and in the Village print newsletter.

Village parks and golf course off limits to golf carts at night


Please do not drive golf carts or any vehicles in Village parks at night, or on the Country Club golf course grass after sunset. Night riding creates safety hazards and causes expensive damage. Please remind any youth who may be heading out there at night, safety is a top priority.


Also, only Village golf carts may be driven on the golf course during the day while playing rounds of golf. Private golf carts may not be used.


Garage sales require a permit in North Palm Beach


The Village Code of Ordinances, in Article VI titled "Garage and other Sales," lays down the rules on what constitutes a garage sales.


To host one of these events, you'll need a permit, which is totally free. Just hop onto the Village website or swing by the Community Development Department and boom, you're good to go.


The Council implemented the permit process to prevent some overly industrious entrepreneurs from turning neighborhoods into daily flea markets.


Now, garage sales are limited to two times a year, for no more than two consecutive days. they can begin at 8 a.m., but the party stops at 9 p.m. sharp! Click the link provided to get a permit.
