Haiti Missions Fundraiser - Change for Life

Since 2010, Covenant has supported long term mission work and medical care in rural Haiti with love, prayer and generosity. Currently, Haiti has no functioning government, police/military or health care system and their minimal infrastructure is compromised. With much of the country controlled by violent gangs, daily life is dangerous and fragile.

Our partner, Real Hope For Haiti, continues to provide clinic services, medicines, health education, food, spiritual support/guidance and other resources to the greater community of Cazale even in these extremely difficult times. A few of the current threats and challenges they face daily are - unchecked inflation, threat of gang violence &/or mass attack, lack of crucial medicines and supplies (medical, food, parts for repairs),  population surge due to people fleeing gang attacks and control, inability to refer/treat patients due to other medical providers leaving the country (including RHFH medical staff), decrease in donations and financial support, spiritual discouragement & depression, anxiety, fear.

Our fundraising goal this year is $20,000!!! The money you give will allow Real Hope For Haiti to continue their vital mission. Your donations change and save lives every day! The iconic baby bottles will be available for you to fill with coins, cash or checks. Baby bottles will be collected on Sunday, June 30.

You can also give online using our eGive option on the home page of our

Greeters Needed

We need a few greeters, especially for the 9:00am Worship service. A greeter's job is to greet people when they arrive, help direct new people to places they need to go, and take up the offering during worship. The commitment is monthly on Sunday mornings at 9:00am for Traditional worship and 11:11am for the Awakening service. If you can help please contact Stephanie Behymer at 901-606-1683 or Slbehymer@gmail.com.

UWF June Meeting

Please join us for the June United Women in Faith (UWF) meeting on Tuesday, June 25 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Smith Covenant Center Cafe Area. We will have a potluck dinner and assemble the UMCOR Hygiene Kits. Please bring a potluck dish to share and any of the Hygiene Kits supplies you have not yet placed in the donation baskets.

ALL women are invited to join us. You do not need to be a member of Covenant United Methodist Church or the UWF to attend. Please note the time and date of this meeting.

If there are questions, please contact Jean Ferlanie

at 901-413-5115.

Last year in September, we had a church-wide celebration to commemorate the recovery from the Great Christmas Flood of 2022. By all accounts, it was such an enjoyable experience for all. Several people remarked that we should do it again (excluding the flood part). So this year, I would like to start a new Covenant UMC tradition. That tradition is that we would celebrate Covenant Sunday every year (perhaps that last Sunday in August of every year). This year on August 25th, we will celebrate Covenant Sunday, a special, annual celebration of our congregation, our life, our ministry, and our future! We will have one combined worship service, followed by a *family* luncheon, which will include some celebratory presentations. Please, please, please, save this date to share it in person with your church family.

*family* an inclusive term that incorporates friends, ministry partners, and members of our church.
