1115 36th Street - Galveston
Thursday, May 9, is the Feast of the Ascension, the day on which we remember and celebrate that our Lord Jesus has ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God Almighty. Ascension Day is always forty days after Easter (thus always a Thursday) and is one of the seven principal feast days of the Church. As we have done with other holy day services, we will worship with the people of Grace Episcopal Church and Saint Augustine of Hippo Episcopal Church. This year, Grace Episcopal will host the worship service, it will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Screening of the film
The Philadelphia 11
Wednesday, June 12
6:00 p.m.
St. Thomas the Apostle
Episcopal Church - Nassau Bay
July 29, 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the ordination of women to the priesthood in the Episcopal church, an ordination that many of us have come to take for granted, but that was extremely controversial within and the without the church. This moving documentary tells the story of the first 11 women ordinands, their consideration by the larger church and within their home dioceses, their legacy, their love of God and the sacraments, and offers and inspiring celebration of perseverance, discernment, and equality. Bring a friend to this open event and expect nibbles, beverages, and a lovely panel discussion by some of the Philadelphia 11 after the film.
