Dear Trinity Episcopal Church,

This week I am at Camp Allen leading a summer session for fifth and sixth graders. This ministry and this place mean so much to me. Witnessing the faithfulness, discipleship, and curiosity of the counselors and campers always gives me great hope for the future of the Church. Also, we have a good contingent of kids from Trinity and Galveston here this week, and it’s been wonderful spending time with them.

After having been gone for the past couple of Sundays, I greatly look forward to being with you all again for worship. I also want to thank the Rev. David Dearman for serving as our supply priest. I respect him as a colleague, but more importantly I count him as a friend. And while I have announced that I am a candidate for the bishop election in the West Missouri diocese, I know that we still have a lot of work to do here at Trinity. It is going to be a very busy fall, and I look forward to all that God has in store for us.

With peace,

Jimmy
