Racial Justice Working Group

The Racial Justice Working Group is gearing up for its third year together and we are excited to expand our outreach now that we can meet in person! Watch this space for an invitation to a potluck supper in October with two area parishes—St. Paul’s on the Green in Norwalk and Trinity in Southport. Over dinner, we’ll talk about how we can join together to continue our anti-racist education and efforts. Want to learn more about our group? Contact Kathy Knapp.

Calling all Cat Lovers!

Our beloved parishioner Katherine Giffing leaves behind two indoor cats, approximately 12 and 14 years of age. If anyone would like to volunteer to help feed her cats on weekends near the Norwalk / Westport line or better yet, if anyone is looking to adopt one or both of these cats, please reach out to Alexis.

Weekly Food Drive

Tie a little string around your finger and remember to bring your non-perishable food items to church this Sunday.  Our weekly food drive supports the feeding programs of the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport, including 2 food pantries and a culinary arts program for at-risk young adults.  Donations may be dropped off in Branson Hall any time during the week. Thank you for sharing the love.

Tuesday Food Pantry Drivers

If you are available for an hour on any given Tuesday morning, please consider signing up to deliver our weekly food donations to one of our two adopted food pantries in Bridgeport. We have partnered with Food Rescue US to recruit additional volunteers throughout the community who are interested in assisting with this ministry. Our sign-ups are now managed on the Food Rescue US app. Visit Food Rescue and click on “Become a Volunteer.”

Refugee Support

Apartment Set-ups for Refugee Families

Working with the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI), we help with home set-ups. This safe place is more than a house but an introduction to a new life. Consider being a part of the joy that comes with this deeply rewarding work. Please reach out to Frances Rowland if you are interested in helping or want to learn more.

Afghan Family

Our parishioners continue to provide hands-on support of the extended Gharmal Afghan family through ESL tutoring, providing legal counsel, medical advice, transportation or preschool research and guidance. Would you like to learn more or get involved? Reach out to Janet Navon or Ann Marshman.

Bible Study - Friday mornings at 9:30am (Mackenzie House)

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is discord, union; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. Grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.
