Reflection: The Spirituality of Sports

Are you a sports fan or could you care less about whatever sport is in season? Maybe you become more than a little miffed when a sporting event takes priority over something else scheduled on that same day or time. As the Super Bowl approaches, perhaps this is the time to consider another angle.

Is it possible to experience a change of mind and heart? Gail McCormick will share our Reflection about how one person can experience the evolution from judgment, of those who choose sports over other important activities and events, to understanding and love.

Please continue to pray for. . .

Our 2024 talent extravaganza will be next Wednesday, January 31st at 6:30 PM right after the church supper. This year’s event will feature several performers singing or playing who have never been on a Central talent show in our nearly 30-year history. Of course, some of our regulars will be back on the program for your enjoyment.

Make your reservation for the supper, enjoy conversation with new and old friends, and be ready for an hour of smiles, music, and entertainment. If you choose to skip the meal, join us a little before 6:30 to get a good seat for the show.

Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to be a part of this annual event.

Ways to Give to Central

We continue to be deeply grateful for continued support of the mission and ministry of Central Church. There are a few ways to continue to make offerings extremely easy.

  1. The US mail always works. We are at 233 North Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306.
  2. Contact the Financial Secretary to set up a recurring gift through an automatic bank draft.
  3. VANCO Mobile
  4. On the homepage on the church's website there is a "Give" link. Once you set up that app any additional gifts are as easy as one or two clicks.
