Clergy Reflection
Dear Folks,
Last September I began a training program in Spiritual Direction at the Haden Institute in Hendersonville, North Carolina. To be honest, I didn’t quite know what I was getting myself into. As we went around the circle in our first small group session, my cohort members shared compelling stories of relationship stress, career changes, personal loss and growth. “Spiritual direction is a portal to what’s now and what’s next,” said one person. Our mentor added, “This work will strip you naked. It’s hard and it’s good. And the human being you discover is always so beautiful.” My group laughed when I admitted I thought I’d signed up for a long weekend instead of a two-year course— “I wondered how we were going to get all that work done in four days!” But whatever had brought us to each other, I was thankful for the company and the challenges ahead.

Meet Our New Senior Warden
As we give thanks for the leadership and service of Keri Frisch, retiring senior warden, I am excited to announce that Lucy Neale Duke will begin her tenure in that position. Lucy is particularly excited about the growth of the Redeemer Parish Day School and its relationship with Govans Elementary. The mission of the Parish Day School promises to shape her role as Redeemer’s next senior warden.

Rejoice in the Arts!
We’d like to give a huge shout out to all of the artists who graciously shared their creativity in the art show currently on exhibit in the church. Enormous thanks are also due to the organizers and behind-the-scenes workers who made this possible. It’s a fabulous exhibit, and we hope that everyone has had a chance to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Just a reminder that 30% of all sales go to support the art department at Govans Elementary School; and if you’re interested in purchasing any of the art which is marked for sale, please contact the artist directly. The show will be up through May 19. Many thanks for your support of the visual arts within our parish!
