ScrapFest is excited to announce that applications for ScrapFest 13 competition are now live! The 2023 ScrapFest event will be held on Friday, July 14, (along with Arts Night Out) and Saturday, July 15. They are seeking those interested in entering the sculpture competition and/or having an eco-art booth at the ScrapFest event. Competition deadline: March 18, 2023. Art booth Deadline: April 1, 2023. 

Grosse Pointe Artist Association in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, is seeking entries for its "Green" exhibition. Green, being the color of nature, represents growth, harmony, fertility and freshness. It is the most restful and relaxing color to the eye, yet there is the "green-eyed monster" in Shakespearean plays and the phrase "turning green with envy." Green can be expressed in many ways it's all up to you and your interpretation. Deadline: Feb. 27, 2023.

Capital City Film Festival announces its Fortnight Film Contest! The competition is for teams of amateur, student and professional filmmakers in Michigan to create a short film for a chance to win some big cash prizes!
Entry fee is $100 and includes two (2) all-access passes to the 2023 Capital City Film Festival ($50 value each). Cash prizes of $5,000+ total March 23, 2023. Competition runs from March 9-23, 2023.

The Village Fine Arts Association seeks submissions for its 31st annual Poetry Art Night (PAN) competition and exhibit to be held at the Suzanne Haskew Arts Center. PAN is a visual arts and poetry competition and sale. Artists are invited to enter their 2- or 3-dimensional artwork, accompanied by a poem. All entered artwork must be inspired by, or related to, a poem, and must be accompanied by that poem. Entered work is reviewed with poetry selection. Entered poetry may be written by the artist or commissioned poet, or can be previously published. Deadline: March 17, 2023.

Higher Art Gallery in Traverse City, Michigan, is seeking artwork for their summer small group exhibit, "Great Bodies." Images of Michigan conjure the shape of our state, (a mitten) surrounded by The Great Lakes, but also consider the hundreds of Inland Lakes, streams, rivers and wetlands which flow to the larger bodies. This is what makes Michigan so special. Paintings, pastels, drawings, watercolor (all wet and dry mediums), mixed media, sculpture and other mediums will be considered. Deadline: May 10, 2023.

Grosse Pointe News in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, announces a call to all Michigan artists for their "Fresh Takes"art contest. Awards include, $1000 1st prize; $500 2nd prize; $500 Gretchen Valade Spirit Award; $500 Readers' Choice Awards. There are three areas of focus this year: Photography, Digital Art and a sneaker art category. Deadline: April 7, 2023.

Praxis Gallery, Photo Arts Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, seeks entries for its juried photography exhibition "The Still Life." Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic art that investigates the genre of the Still Life. Submissions may explore classical to conceptual aspects of the still life, photographing object arrangements that intrigue, engage or entertain the viewer. All genres, capture types, color and black & white, traditional and non-traditional photographic and digital post-production processes are welcome for submission. Deadline: Feb. 28, 2023.

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, seeks artists for their "Midsummer Festival of the Arts." Cash awards will be given. The Festival is open to all artists eighteen years of age and older. All works on display must be for sale. No commission will be taken by the Arts Center. Artists may exhibit works in up to two categories if they are accepted in those categories. Deadline: March 1, 2023. 

Discover Wauwatosa seeks artists for "ART 64," a two-day interactive live painting bracket-style tournament, held June 9 and 10, 2023, at The Village of Wauwatosa in Wisconsin. Receive Minimum $100 for participation and up to $20,000 for the grand prize for winner. Required for application: 3-5 examples of previous work for consideration. No fee. Deadline: March 10, 2023.

The Midwest Center for Photography in Wichita, Kansas, seeks entries for a juried photography exhibition, "Nesting." Selected artists will be featured in the gallery and online. Photographs using domestic subject matter, images of people and places we all call home are what make up the images in this exhibition, which will encompass a range of approaches to the concept homemaking. MWCP will print the images at no cost to the artists and frame them using the gallery rental frames. Deadline: March 15, 2023.

Arts Midwest is seeking a controller to direct and oversee the daily accounting and finance operations. with a focus on financial stability and success of the organization. They are looking for applicants with 5+ years of experience in accounting and finance and know how to manage the finances of an organization with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and process improvement. This is a remote position. Deadline: February 27, 2023.

Arts Midwest is seeking a national director--USRAO Collective. The United States Regional Arts Organizations (USRAOs) are a collective of six non-profit arts service organizations committed to strengthening America’s infrastructure by increasing access to creativity for all Americans. The USRAO collective includes Arts Midwest, Mid-America Arts Alliance, Mid Atlantic Arts, New England Foundation for the Arts, South Arts and Western States Arts Federation. The full-time director will play a critical role in developing and coordinating the shared national programmatic and fundraising vision of the USRAOs as a united national collective. Old Town's Lumberjack Festival "Brrs, Beards & Brews," is returning to Turner St. for 2023, and they need some enthusiastic volunteers who want to channel their inner lumber jack! The festival is from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, in the heart of Old Town. Shifts are available all day from setup, to bartending to check-in and games.
