Quill Theatre, in partnership with the Virginia War Memorial, brings a generation of love letters to life
in For the Duration: Letters from Home.
WWII, one of the most infamous conflicts in the history of our world started for America after the attack on December 7th, 1941 at Pearl Harbor. President Roosevelt asked Congress to declare war on Japan and within an hour of his speech, the United States had officially entered World War II. Hundreds of thousands of Americans immediately decided to enlist in service of their country. They didn't know how long they'd be away. They were simply enlisted "for the duration."
On October 17th, this one night only unique event will feature readings from real letters in the James Triesler Collection, and will give a glimpse into the real world challenges, triumphs, and losses of soldiers abroad and their loved ones at home.
The production team is available for conversations about the production, it's creation, and how it fits into Quill Theatre's 2017-18 season of Utopia and Dystopia. Tickets can be purchased
here.
