Sermon Title: Life With the Good Shepherd
Text: John 10:1-10

Sharing Christ, Changing Lives!
Presented by Kindergarten and 1st grade
Please remember to pray for…
  • Jackie Salonisen, who has been hospitalized and awaiting results from a brain tumor biopsy. Please pray for her healing and comfort for both Jackie and her family.
  • Infection rates to slow and cease; that those who have been infected will heal quickly; that healthcare staff and first responders will be sustained as they carry this very heavy burden; that our churches, schools and preschools would be sustained and reliant on our loving God and His guidance; for courage and peace for our pastors, lay leaders, church and school administrators, faculties, and all church and school workers who are making difficult decisions, creating innovative solutions for continuing to reach people for the sake of the Gospel; for our federal, state and local leaders to seek God's will as they make important decisions and take actions against this disease; for God to bring many, many people to faith through this situation, and that His Church would be more effective than ever in sharing the Gospel with the lost and loving our neighbors.
  • Prayers for David, son-in-law of Pam Milliken, who is recovering in rehab.
  • All our church and school families. We pray for our families whose members are on the front lines working in health care, law enforcement, public service, food industries / services, new media, financial institutions, construction, safety, sanitation and many more. We pray for our families who are worried about finances, and for our families who have health concerns.
  • Don Robinson, Lisa Kott’s Father, for healing from a second stroke. And for Lisa's mother for comfort and strength
  • Zion School Parent, Melissa Ferguson, who has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. She has already had a successful surgery to remove the cancer and will now begin chemotherapy treatment in the very near future. Please keep Melissa, her family, and her medical team in your prayers as they begin this journey of Healing and Hope. Let us pray for God’s miracle of healing for Melissa and that her journey may be used all for God’s glory!
  • Healing for Bob Gardner, friend of Glenda Flora, and also for support of his family after a serious auto accident.
  • Nikki McGannon, niece of Sharon Beaudoin, is now battling cancer that has metastasized to her brain. Please keep Nikki in your prayers for a miracle and what lies ahead for her healing journey.
  • Marty Ross (friend of the Armas family) for strength and healing from cancer.
  • Jane Muccillo, who suffered a stroke back in December. Please keep her in your prayers for a full recovery.

Pastoral Call Process
Dear Brothers & Sisters of Zion
In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, one may have assumed that the Pastoral Call process at Zion may have been put on the backburner or had at least got bumped down the priority list for the LCMS Pacific Southwest Dist. (PSWD). In a call with Dist. Pres. Gibson last week, we were pleased to learn that things have actually been moving forward at a proper clip.
At this point, we actually have 12 candidates to review!  These include a combination of names submitted by Zion as well as a handful that were recommended by the PSWD. There were an additional five names that had been recommended or requested that were listed as "Unavailable" for a variety of reasons.

The Call Comm. will now begin phase 2 of the process by reviewing the reports submitted by the Dist. on each candidate to ascertain if they are a "Fit" for what we are looking for and need here at Zion. However, a word of advice & caution was offered by President Gibson as we move forward. He suggested... "Do your homework on these candidates, but wait to make a decision or place a Call as any candidate who would be willing to leave their congregation during these trying times is not the right fit for Zion." We believe this is sage advice and will act accordingly.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers throughout this entire process. I realize that while it may seem like we keep running into roadblocks (Thanks COVID!), I also know that the Lord has a plan and timeline for us at Zion. Now we are one step closer to seeing what that looks like! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the Call Committee.

Sincerely,
Eron Jacobson
