Sermon Title: "A Divine Promise"
Text: Matthew 28:16-20

Sharing Christ, Changing Lives!
Please remember to pray for…
  • Zion School Parent, Melissa Ferguson, who is currently undergoing small and large chemo treatments for cancer. She has an update to share - PRAISE REPORT that her tumor has shrunk from 5.3 to 2.2. Now let us pray for God’s continued miracle of healing for the tumor to continue to shrink and that she will be fully healed! She has been completed 3 months of chemotherapy and will do another 3 months coming up. Lastly, she asks that we pray for the mass to dry up at the root and be in remission and healed. May all people know that God is a Healer! This is Melissa's Victory Verse: Jeremiah 29:11
  • Nikki, Sharon Beaudoin's niece, is still doing cancer treatment and will have a new MRI on the brain at the end of May. Please continue to keep her in your prayers for healing and comfort.
  • Larry, dear friend of Brad & Donna Heinecke, is now home from the hospital continuing to recover from Covid-19. Please continue to keep Larry in your prayers to receive the best of medical care under his condition and a for complete recovery from the virus.
  • Bob Gardner, friend of Glenda Flora, as he goes through rigorous physical therapy to regain some use of his legs and for his loving supportive family.
  • Continued prayers for Jackie Salonisen, who is now home with hospice care. May God who understands each and every need, who listens to every prayer, bless and keep Jackie and her family in His tender loving care.
  • Infection rates to slow and cease; that those who have been infected will heal quickly; that healthcare staff and first responders will be sustained as they carry this very heavy burden; that our churches, schools and preschools would be sustained and reliant on our loving God and His guidance; for courage and peace for our pastors, lay leaders, church and school administrators, faculties, and all church and school workers who are making difficult decisions, creating innovative solutions for continuing to reach people for the sake of the Gospel; for our federal, state and local leaders to seek God's will as they make important decisions and take actions against this disease; for God to bring many, many people to faith through this situation, and that His Church would be more effective than ever in sharing the Gospel with the lost and loving our neighbors.
  • All our church and school families. We pray for our families whose members are on the front lines working in health care, law enforcement, public service, food industries / services, new media, financial institutions, construction, safety, sanitation and many more. We pray for our families who are worried about finances, and for our families who have health concerns.
  • Don Robinson, Lisa Kott’s Father, for continued healing and comfort from a second stroke. And also for Lisa's mother for encouragement and comfort as these times are difficult for her to be away from her lifemate.
  • Jane Muccillo, who suffered a stroke back in December. Please keep her in your prayers for a full recovery.

Zion is Offering Communion @ Home Kits
Have You Missed Communion?
After much prayer and discussion our Zion Elders want to extend the opportunity to share in Holy Communion during social distancing.

We are hoping to do all we can by offering this resource for those that are unable to make it to church or just not ready to return to the church for physical worship and communion. We want you to remain safe and secure in every decision you make.

In doing so, we would like to offer you with the opportunity for a home delivery kit of the Communion Elements, followed up by a call from a Zion Elder who will administer communion with you over the phone.

Once you're request form has been submitted you will receive a confirmation email from Google Forms. Zion will then contact you to set up a time to drive over and deliver the kit to your home.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ -

As we begin to inch our way out of the current COVID crisis, we are happy to announce that the Pastoral Call Committee has identified four very strong candidates to potentially serve as our next Pastor here at Zion Anaheim.

Because of the current health crisis we had previously been advised to not contact any of our prospects. Pres. Gibson stated "Any Pastor that would consider leaving their congregation during this time would not be a good fit for Zion." However... as the outlook for the COVID pandemic continues to improve, we have now been given the "Greenlight" to begin engaging candidates on a formal level.  Working with President Gibson and the LCMS Pacfic Southwest District, we have begun to draft a letter of interest inviting each of the prospects to prayerfully consider joining us in the Call conversation. Those will be sent to each candidate by the middle of next week.

Once a candidate receives the letter of interest, it is up to them to determine if they would like to begin a dialogue with the Call Comm. to determine if there is a mutual interest and for us to further understand how they would fit within the broader Zion community. It is our hope that each of the four candidates will agree to move forward in this conversation.
Call Committe Update Continued...
As we continue to move closer to finding "Pastor Next", I humbly ask for your prayers for the process and the members of the committee. We know that the Lord has already chosen our next Pastor... it's now up to each of us to listen to him carefully for guidance and direction.  As always, thank you for your continued support throughout this process. Please don't hesitate to contact any member of the Call Comm. if you have questions or would like to discuss where we are in further detail.

Humbly on behalf of each member of the Call Committee -
Eron Jacobson

Zion ECEC Summer Program
July 1, 2020 – August 7, 2020

We are excited about our summer together. At this point, we are allowed to provide care for parents who work in an essential workplace. It is our hope that the state will allow us to accept other students in July as various sectors of business reopen. Therefore we are taking registration for summer. We will keep you posted. There is no registration fee for the summer program, however, the new tuition rates will be in effect as of July 1, 2020.

It is Zion’s goal to honor God in the way that we value the physical health and well-being of our students, families, staff and community. We have to implement health and safety protocols based on State of California Governor’s order, licensing requirements, public health and CDC guidelines during the pandemic. We now have new safety protocols in place, and these will be in effect until licensing and the state says otherwise. Once you notify us of your intent to attend our summer program, you will be sent the protocols.

Important notes:
Hours of operations: 7:00 am to 5:30 pm - A late charge will be incurred if a student is not picked up by 5:30 pm. (The change in our program hours is necessary for us to properly clean, sanitize and disinfect our facility daily)

If you intend to attend our Summer Program July 1, 2020 – please  email Mrs. Knapp  or call 714-535-1172 ext. 300 by Friday, June 19, 2020. We need to know how many will be attending as our ratio of teacher per student has been reduced to 1:10 and we need to make sure we have adequate staffing.
