This Sunday our Youth will be leading the services.

Youth Sunday is always one of the most inspiring and heartfelt services of the year. And this Sunday’s services promise to be another chance to see how gracefully our youth have
grown up.

They’ll be serving as readers, ushers, assistants in the nursery and children’s chapel, even as the preacher. Come celebrate their growth as Christians.
The Blessing of the Keys

We’ll also be presenting Keys to our 10th graders during the 9 am and 11:15 am services to acknowledge and bless their increased independence and maturity.

Young Family Social

The next Young Family Social is this Saturday, February 11, from 4 to 6 pm at Rev. Amelia Arthur’s house (3918 Hanover Avenue). St. James will provide snacks, water, and lemonade. Parents are encouraged to bring a favorite beverage. We hope to see you there!
We’re seeking parishioners
to write
God in Your Inbox reflections.

One of St. James’s most cherished Lenten traditions is back. God in your Inbox is a daily reflection of the Lenten readings written by both the clergy of St. James’s and our parishioners, then sent to the congregation by email. If you would like to be one of the people who pens a Lenten reflection, please go here to sign up.

Once you sign up, you’ll be assigned a reading to reflect upon in your writing. (We’re thinking about 200 words or so.)

If you have any questions, you can reach out to Jay Sandusky at jsandusky@doers.org.
PREVIEW
of the Mardi Gras Live Auction

Mardi Gras is just around the corner and it’s time to start thinking about what you might bid on at the auction.

This Bourbon tasting and food pairing event will be brought to your home, where Certified Bourbon Sommelier George "Brak" Braxton will curate and lead your group of 10 through a wide-ranging selection of bourbons. And the flights will be accompanied by delish food.

Mardi Gras is Tuesday, February 21
at 6 pm in Valentine Hall

Join us in person for one of St. James’s legendary parties and help us fund Outreach and Missions. There will be fabulous foods, drinks, and an exciting live auction and raffles (even childcare).

Go here to purchase tickets or Fill-A-Float by making a donation.
And preview some of our fabulous auction items.

Check social media and your emails to learn what we'll be raffling and to purchase raffle tickets.

WE STILL NEED VOLUNTEERS
for Mardi Gras

We are excited to bring back one of St. James's favorite parties, and need LOTS of volunteers to help make it happen.

We're looking for help with set up, decorations, check-in, servers, bartenders, and more. Go here to volunteer.

AND VOLUNTEER COOKS too.

We need cooks in the kitchen to make delicious food so we can eat and be merry at Mardi Gras.

If you can chop, stir, watch the pot, add the spices, flip the beef and more, we're inviting everyone to join our cooking team!

Reach out to Dave Sealey if you would like to help at dsealey@comcast.net

Pool floats and all sorts of fun provided … just bring yourselves and some towels!
Please RSVP for our new Wednesday night dinners.

The response to our new Wednesday Night Dinner & Class has been terrific. The only challenge is that we haven’t had an accurate count of how many folks to expect for dinner.

This week (and every Wednesday moving forward), we’re asking everyone who plans to come to RSVP here by Monday noon. (Once on the Signup page, scroll down to find the dinner RSVP section.)

This Wednesday’s dinner is being catered by Joe’s Inn, and we want to make sure there’s enough for everyone who comes.

The suggested donation for dinner is $5 per person, with a $20 maximum per family.
The Fun-“Do”-Mentals class, which follows the dinner, is taught by the Rev. Amelia Arthur and the Rev. Blake Singer, and will feature presentations each week followed by a small group discussion and fellowship. This coming Wednesday's Fun-"Do"-Mental presentation is Scripture Part II. Click here to signup and to see the full schedule of classes.
