Utah Distillery Sells Breath Analyzers Ahead of .05 DUI Limit

Park City, Utah’s new Alpine Distilling sells single-malt whiskeys, but it also promotes peace of mind, making keychain breath analyzers available for purchase. The sleek, small devices, designed to quickly and accurately determine blood alcohol content, could come in handy now that Utah's drunken-driving limit is the nation's lowest. (Salt Lake Tribune)

D.C. Distillery Names Whiskey After Hillary Clinton     

Leading up to the election, Republic Restoratives owners Pia Carusone and 
Rachel Gardner wanted to create a product that would celebrate whom they thought would be the first female president. Plus, it seemed fitting: Hillary Clinton has been known to throw back the occasional whiskey. So, they came up with the idea for Rodham Rye, which would launch around the inauguration. Illinois Distiller Advocating State Law to Bypass Distributors 
On a busy night, a bar across the street from Fred Robinson's small suburban distillery might call asking for a quick delivery of a few extra bottles of whiskey, rum or gin. State law, however, prohibits Robinson from filling that order. (Daily Herald)

Milwaukee Brewers Ballpark to Serve Great Lakes Distillery Spirits

Great Lakes Distillery announced that the Milwaukee Brewers, starting this season, will serve cocktails made from Kinnickinnic Whiskey, Rehorst Gin and Roaring Dan's Rum at Miller Park. (OnMilwaukee)

Humboldt Distillery Expands Outside California

Humboldt Distillery is expanding its reach outside of its Northern California home. The distillery’s now nationally distributed products include Organic Vodka, Organic Spiced Rum and “Humboldt’s Finest” a cannabis-infused vodka. In addition to California, Humboldt’s new markets include Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. (BevNet)

Florida Grocery Sales Bill Passes State Senate
A proposal nicknamed the 'Whiskey and Wheaties Bill' (SB 106) allowing grocery stores, big box retailers and other stores to sell liquor in the same space as other products was approved by the Florida Senate in a 21-17 vote on Thursday. Currently, liquor must be sold in a side store which is separated by a wall. (U.S. News & World Report)
