2022 was a year of growth, impact and celebration for the Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County (WGF) with the return of the Women of Distinction lunch as an in-person event and the addition of a new endowment fund.
Here is what we did:
-
Focus on Our Mission: The WGF staff, and Board of Directors, work tirelessly to focus on our mission: To advance the health and well-being, self-sufficiency and empowerment of women and girls in Waukesha County by growing our endowment to provide financial grants and support.
-
Philanthropy: With over 600 persons in attendance, the 38th annual Women of Distinction Luncheon raised just under $191,000. Both records! And we are proud to say we collected 209 new and gently used purses that were distributed to the Hope Center in Waukesha. Our first annual Nine and Wine golf event was a great success as it allowed female philanthropists to gather. Our year-end annual appeal raised over $60,000 – exceeding our goal. The Thomas and Betty Arndt endowment fund was established in honor of the late Tom Arndt who strongly supported and believed in the mission of the Women and Girls Fund.
-
Impact: As a local organization, the Women and Girls Fund remains a leader in making an impact on issues concerning women and girls. We awarded $139,900 to 13 Waukesha County agencies with innovative programs that aid and enrich the lives of women and girls in our community. To learn more, see our complete list of grants at www.wgfwaukeshacounty.org/impact.
-
Empowerment: Three Waukesha County women were awarded a $3,000 New Hope Scholarship. The scholarship was created to ease the financial barrier of tuition for non-traditional female students, returning to school to seek a chance at a better life.
We could not have accomplished this without your generosity, and we look forward to your continued support in 2023. Together we are changing the lives of women and girls.
Celebrating your involvement,
