Margo DeMello attended Living with Animals in Richmond Kentucky this past March, where she was able to catch up on much of the work happening in human-animal studies today.

She attended in part to support her students and former students from the Canisius Anthrozoology program who were presenting papers, many based on work done in her course Cross-Cultural Anthrozoology: Julie Palais, Patricia Keough, Aubrey Milatz, and Julia Johnson—the latter two of whom are ASI interns!

She also participated in a panel discussion on Companion Animals as Animal Ambassadors alongside Michal Piotr Pregowski, Jennifer Sinski, and Jeanne Dubino.

She has arrived home inspired and with two new potential book ideas!
