Camp Christopher is gearing up for its 93 rd  summer camp season, which begins the week of June 12. Registration is under way for all types of camp programs, including day camp, resident express camp, resident camp voyage, leadership camp, and camps for persons with disabilities.
Established in 1924, Camp Christopher is operated by Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland. Camp Christopher integrates Catholic social teaching into its programs, including the belief that all human life is sacred, acceptance of all into the camp family, valuing diversity, accepting rights and responsibilities and being responsible for God's creation.

Annual Golf Outing  - June 15th

T he 22nd annual Catholic Charities of Summit County Golf Outing  will be  Thursday, June 15, at Mayfair Country Club, 2229 Raber Road in Uniontown . Entry fee is $100 ($400 per foursome) and will include full breakfast and lunch buffets as well as a steak dinner catered by US Foods in Mayfair's beautiful banquet facility. For an additional $25 per player ($100) per foursome, participants can pay for prize raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, mulligans and skins game entry in advance.

Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony - June 28th

Join us for an Ethiopian coffee ceremony at the June 28th caregivers support group meeting.  This Ethiopian tradition helps to promote relaxation.  Catholic Charities Summit Adult Day Services Caregivers Support group offers opportunities for education and support to caregivers in managing their own health and wellness while meeting the needs of their loved ones.  A community-based intervention designed to care for the aging population experiencing cognitive or functional limitations, as well as to address the needs of those at risk of social isolation.  

Meetings are at 10:00 a.m. on the last Wednesday of each month at 812 Biruta Street - Akron 44307. For more information phone 330.762.2000.

Active Parenting Summer Series

It's time to embrace the joy of parenting!  Join us for a FREE summer parenting session.  Millions of parents have achieved success with Active Parenting-and you can, too!  This video-based program, for parents of children ages 5 to 12, will help you learn ways to raise responsible children who are able to resist negative peer pressure.  Over the course of six sessions, you'll learn non-violent discipline techniques plus effective communication and encouragement skills to build a solid foundation for the upcoming teen years.

*No class July 4th   

September Song Weekend

Do you miss your childhood days at summer camp?  Did you always want to go but didn't get the chance?  Then consider attending September Song at Camp Christopher.  For a few days in August, adults ages 50+ can return to their youth and enjoy canoe rides, swimming, hiking, hay rides, and campfires while making new friends.  Daily worship services are offered to campers or they can simply
enjoy the solitude of the natural surroundings.
