Workforce Development Update:
As the upswing in construction activity continues, our members are looking for more and more quality employees. We have resources and programs that can help fill your needs. Among them is the Army PaYS Program. In July 2017, Nevada Builders Alliance signed a formal partnership with the Army PaYS Program which enables our members to post job openings on the Army PaYS job board. Why hire an Army veteran? They are pre-screened, have advanced training and have the "soft skills" that are often lacking in today's available workforce. There is no cost to post positions; the only obligation is to provide an interview to the applicants. For more information on the program,

Safety Corner
Brought to you by:
Weather Preparedness
Changes in weather present hazardous conditions that may require organizations to modify operations when conditions become extreme. Weather is generally predictable by meteorologists on local news stations, but severe weather can produce unexpected dangers without warning.
Emergency Preparedness should address evacuation and shelter in place procedures. Proper plan development has specific key elements, starting with identifying conditions that would necessitate emergency response action. The next step is establishing a predetermined chain of command so that all employees know who to report information to. This step includes an assignment of responsibilities during emergency situations. Evacuation routes, muster stations and shelter in place locations must be clearly established and communicated to all job-site personnel. Changes in work processes on construction sites may require new muster stations throughout the course of the project. Specialized safety equipment related to weather emergencies must be on hand, inspected, and easily accessible at all times. Last but not least, effective training is critical to a successful weather-related emergency response.
The safety professionals at PGM Safety Services, an affiliat
e of Pro Group Management, are here to help. Contact your safety specialist or call 1 (800) 859-3177 and let us help you recognize and prevent weather-related emergencies today.
