WBJC in 2016
WBJC continues its commitment to bringing you the music you want to hear.  We have striven to present the best in Classical Music programming in 2016.  We don't use playlists or computer algorithms; our hosts program their shows using their expertise and extensive musical knowledge.

This year, WBJC has:
  • Served nearly 200,000 listeners per week.

  • Broadcast the Metropolitan Opera, LA Opera, San Francisco Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, The Glimmerglass Festival, and the Bayreuth Festival.  WBJC is your place for opera year-round.

  • Presented several local specials this year, including a seven-part series on the history of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in honor of its 100th anniversary.  The series, produced for Music in Maryland by Jonathan Palevsky, featured historic recordings and discussions with Michael Lisicky, second oboist for the BSO.

  • Featured exceptional holiday programs like A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols, Christmas with Baltimore Choral Arts, the WBJC Klezmer Special and New Year’s Day from Vienna.

We hope you've found value in WBJC throughout 2016 and we are working on an even better 2017!
