I had mentioned as things happen faster I would share them with everyone. It is important to make sure we continue to keep all 156 of us in the loop in everything we do.

So my job just got easier! Well at least one can hope!
What I mean is there are now things that more people can get involved!

Great news.  We have copies of the suggested bylaws for all the committees/boards we need and for which volunteers have been solicited.

What is important about having the sample bylaws is that we now will have the foundation for which we can create the boards necessary and expected by national to support the chapter when it is recolonized.  So we now have the documents we need to draft that foundation, rules and operating procedures we will need.  Much like the chapter when they get the men they need will need to establish some building blocks and documents we need to do the same.  So this is our chance to get started and the quicker we accomplish the task the better!

Before I go any further.  We must consider this a start.  If you are interested in working on any committee/board, please let me know so I can pass your name on to the committees/board and you can get involved.  Of course, my plan would be to also announce your offer to volunteer in the newsletters as they come out!

We have received some significant commitments from brothers and appreciate their volunteering to help!

The biggest commitments I have received so far are as follows:

Chapter Advisory Board

Co Chair: Brother Dr. John Kuntz - John has retired from Slippery Rock University and will give us a great ability to navigate any issues that may rise on campus for the students! drjmkuntz@hotmail.com 412-335-7559.

Co Chair: Brother Paul Herbert - A very active local businessman with an intense commitment to the project. pdherbert@gmail.com 414-581-8845.

These two have asked that they start the process and work with the bylaws and work through the process to get us where we need to be.  Once the bylaws are formed they will figure out officers and we will go from there.  This should be a great start!

Additional volunteers who are now on the board include:

Brother Michael Bariski - Michael with his school activities is on campus on a regular basis and is well know at the University. mike.bariski@lppacs.org 724-910-7998.

Brother David Derosa, Jr. - Many of you know from hosting the "after golf outing" gatherings at his home for many years who lives within 10 minutes of campus. mrdsauto@aol.com 724-674-0855.

Brother Michael "Doc" Dougherty, Jr. - A past Treasurer has offered his services long distance to the committee. lltgd@ptd.net  610-724-0236.

Alumni Association/Corporation

I have as of yet not heard from anyone who wishes to chair or be involved, though I have asked and been told there are some emails flying around.  As soon as I get some volunteers, I will be happy to pass on a "word" document version of the bylaws so they can get started.

Housing Corporation

The Housing Corporation is probably the lowest of the priorities at this time.  As an example with the house on Normal Avenue, we never did take ownership. We will go into that in more detail in the February newsletter, but we will more than likely work with National in deciding when would be a good time, what would be a good location and how they may help us in getting started.  This will be come a much more "legal" entity of the 3 committees.

As of yet we do not have any real commitments and again will be happy to pass on "word" versions of those documents once we have committed volunteers.

There are 3 document for this committee:

Theta Chi Constitution & Bylaws

Since some of these refer to the Theta Chi Constitution and Bylaws, I have included a copy of the most recent is linked here as well:

I will place a link to all the suggested bylaws and the Theta Chi Constitution and Bylaws on the page with the newsletters at http://www.websiteassist.com/ZA

Finally, I would like to thank Brother Joe Suprano, who has volunteered to be a member of the ZA Chapter Recolonization Advisory Committee.  You may have noticed in previous newsletters I had mentioned that I had hoped that he would step forward and be willing to be an advisor and he has agreed.  His commitment over the years with the golf tournament and making sure we keep the remembrance of our past brother with the bricks at Alumni House has been invaluable and we all value his advise.

I continue to make calls to each brother and hope to speak to you if we have not spoken.  I have to admit it is taking longer than expected because in many cases these calls have turned into conversations much longer than I originally expected! They have been enjoyable and I appreciate the input, suggestions and commitment I am getting from each.

Thank you. That is all I have for now.  If anything pops up, I will let you know but this should be all till February!

If you have anything to share or think we should bring to everyone's attention, you have my email and phone number.  Let me know.

We have a lot to do and a short amount of time to get it done.  But we have already done a lot of good together!
