Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes Tours New Pinal VOTES Building

Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and staff from his office toured the new Pinal VOTES building in Florence. The facility, home to Pinal County Elections and Recorder staff, opened last month ahead of the Primary Election on July 30th.


Recorder Dana Lewis took Secretary Fontes around the building, demonstrating the significant improvements made in security, processes, and transparency. Click on the video to learn more about the visit.

What is Proposition 486?

Proposition 486 is the 20-year reauthorization of the 1/2 cent excise tax that funds transportation improvement and maintenance in Pinal County. It is not a new tax nor a tax increase, and it will be on the ballot for the 2024 General Election.

As the summer comes to a close and schools across the county begin to head back to school, here are a few tips from the National Safety Council to keep your families safe as you step into the new school year!


  • Review your family's walking safety rules and practice walking to school with your child.
  • Teach your children school bus safety rules and practice with them.
  • Stay alert and avoid distracted driving.
  • Obey school zone speed limits and follow your school's drop-off procedure.
