Food Network is currently casting for the 20th Season of Restaurant: Impossible hosted by renowned Chef Robert Irvine. Given the current pandemic, we know that a lot of restaurants are struggling, and we want to give them a chance to turn things around. In just two days with only $10,000 (budget provided by production), Chef Irvine takes on the challenge of revamping your restaurant back to success! After assessing the problems with the restaurant, Chef Irvine creates a plan for the new decor, oversees the refurbishment of the restaurant, reduces the size of the menu and improves the quality of the entrees, develops promotional activity, educates or resolves conflicts for the restaurant's owners, or trains the staff, as needed for each restaurant with the goal to restore it to prominence and profitability. Here's a link to our site: https://www.foodnetwork.com/shows/restaurant-impossible. Production will be for 2-3 days this winter.

LTC receives grant for billboards in Vegas, California, Phoenix
LAUGHLIN — The Laughlin Tourism Commission will receive a grant from Travel Nevada to purchase billboard space along major travel corridors.
The digital billboards, which will emphasize that Laughlin is open and safe for travel, are along the Interstate 15 corridor in Las Vegas, the I-10 corridor in Phoenix and the I-10 corridor in southern California, and will advertise the drive time to Laughlin from each ocation.
For example, the Las Vegas billboard will read: "Only 1.5 hours away."
The billboards will use photos of Tri-state outdoor activities such as boating, personal watercraft and four-wheeling.
"The first thing I asked when we applied for the grant was 'can we include our neighboring communities?'" LTC President Jackie Wallin said. "It was very rewarding to know that we can show not only Laughlin, but photos from all around the area."
The LTC received a similar grant from Travel Nevada last year, and purchased billboards in the same three locations.
Last year saw increases in both tourism and revenue in Laughlin.
Casino gaming revenue increased by 30% in November compared to 2020. Gaming revenue saw an overall increase of 15% from June through November when compared to 2020.

Laughlin Library much more than books
LAUGHLIN — The Laughlin Library is more than just a place that provides books, DVDs and CDs at no charge to anyone who asks for and receives a Clark County Library District card.
The building itself is an architectural work of art — right down to its location.
The library was strategically placed in 1987 with the goal of capturing a view of the mountains.
"We felt this was the first real permanent community building in the city, making sure the design was timeless and permitted all these amenities they didn’t have anywhere at the time," architect Craig Galati said. "The idea was to build permanence in a transient community.”
One unique feature of the library is the art gallery, which displays wall art and sculpture favoring local artists.
The current exhibit is “Eyescapes” by Hank Schoepp of Las Vegas.
He describes his work by explaining that “the eyes look back at their beholder, are quite real, and I hope you enjoy what you see.”
The exhibit is a colorful array of framed pieces arranged professionally around three walls of the gallery.
Above the uplifting high ceiling is a beautiful skylight that illuminates the art and also connects the viewer to the sky.
