Logan Lake Mayor Robin Smith awarded King Charles III Coronation Medal.

Logan Lake Mayor Robin Smith has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her dedication to the community. In a news release, the District of Logan Lake said Jackie Tegart, MLA for Fraser-Nicola, presented Smith with the award on Tuesday. The ceremony was held during the district’s regular council meeting, with family, friends and staff filling the chambers. Congratulations Robin! 🎉

Kamloops Residential Real Estate Activity Cooled Down in August. A total of 1,165 residential unit sales were recorded across the Association region in August coming in below July’s 1,351 units and below August 2023’s units sold by a 9.5% decrease.

Kamloops MP questions whether NDP-Liberal pact will spell fall election.

Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Frank Caputo says he wasn’t surprised to see federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh rip up the the supply and confidence deal with the Liberals that has kept the minority government in power. The Conservative MP told Castanet Kamloops he thinks Singh made the move to juice his poll numbers, and questions whether he will end up standing in opposition to the government. 🗳️

Parkcrest Elementary school reopens to students five years after blaze.

Students are once again flooding the halls of Parkcrest elementary exactly five years after a fire left the school in ruins. The $37-million school officially opened its doors Tuesday to students after the Kamloops-Thompson school district approved its reopening as a K-7 school last year as part of sweeping catchment changes and grade reconfigurations on the North Shore. ✏️

Annual BC Sports Hall of Fame Summit arrives in Kamloops!


For the first time ever, the BC Sports Hall of Fame will hold its Annual Summit 2024 in Kamloops September 19, 20 and 21st. The Kamloops 2024 Annual Summit is an opportunity for advocates in the promotion of sport history, heritage and culture, to collaborate and share best practices as well as recognize local and BC milestones in sport history.


Co-hosted by the Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame and PacificSport Interior BC,  the Summit will include a tribute luncheon emceed by Dylana Kneeshaw of CFJC TV where we will pay tribute to 5 major Defining Moments in Kamloops and British Columbia sport history such as Kelly Olynyk, Dylan Armstrong, Fro Riders, Catharine Pendrel and the Kamloops Blazers winning the Memorial Cup in 1995 as one of the best CHL/WHL teams in history. This will be a historic and memorable event for Kamloops as the City of Kamloops will also be receiving the first ever BC Sport Heritage Community designation by the BC Sports Hall of Fame to celebrate its stature as Canada’s Tournament Capital.


In the evening, the Council of Chairs Dinner featuring the Eric Whitehead Inspired Service Awards will also acknowledge individuals who have contributed greatly to sport. Al Raine and Nancy Green Raine will be receiving the Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award.
