Holiday Conversation Kick-starters
Why not initiate some conversations about philanthropy this holiday season? You may be surprised by how much you learn about yourself and those closest to you!
Try these questions to get started:
- What has been your most meaningful gift?
- How do you decide where to give?
- Do you give from your heart or your head?
- How have life experiences influenced your giving?
- If you had $1 million to give, how would you allocate it?
Sharilyn supports philanthropists and their families objectively and discretely with philanthropic conversations, exploration and planning. Contact Watermark for details.

Donette
Chin-Loy Chang Shines
Her down to earth warmth is matched only by her community passion and generous spirit. Born in Jamaica, Donette Chin-Loy Chang flourished professionally in Canada before finding her stride as a philanthropist in support of Caribbean and Canadian causes.
Donette is Co-chair of Watermark client Food For The Poor (Canada), and serves on the Cabinet for the University Health Network's $1 billion campaign. Of course, the G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University (her alma mater) which bears the name of her late husband, Jamaican-Canadian entrepreneur Ray Chang, remains close to her heart. "He was one of the world's greatest 'do-gooders', and together we shared a vision of how we saw the world. When you can assist, you do."
Believing education levels the playing field, Donette is Co-Patron, along with her step children Andrew Chang and Brigette Chang Addorisio, of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Toronto Benefit Gala, of which Ray was Patron for 6 years. The April 1st, 2017 gala is the largest fundraiser in North America for the UWI. Donette, thanks for giving & engaging others.
