Meet Our Work Study Students
While serving as the Chief Finance Officer for King's University College Students' Council, Waleed Abdulelah, began a fundraising initiative to help those affected by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria that raised over $33,000.
Abdulelah, in his last year in Accounting, also worked as an Office Assistant and Data Analysis Support in the Academic Dean’s Office. He developed skills in data analysis, database management, data visualization, and project coordination and acquired advanced knowledge in Excel, and proficiency in using it to manipulate, analyze and visualize data.

study positions is March 24. Summer
International Work Experience (IWE) programs are also accepting applications.

Treye Trotman continues wrestling success
Treye Trotman, first-year BMOS student, took part in the Canadian Junior and Senior wrestling trials on March 11-12, the first step towards the 2023 Paris Olympics. Treye won the Junior nationals and was named to the national team at 57 kg. and placed second in the Senior nationals, earning a spot as an alternate on the Senior national team.

King's student-athletes part of ringette team's championship season
Laura Ehmke, a third-year Disability Studies student with a minor in Psychology and Rachel Van Bakel, a third-year Disability Studies student, were part of the Mustangs ringette team who won their second straight AA provincial championship in Kitchener-Waterloo on March 5.

Secure Your Spot this Fall at King's
Let us know that you’ll be studying at King’s this fall 2023, and your degree and program choices, when you complete your Intent to Register (ITR). If you’re a first-year student, want to switch your module or program, or change your academic load, you need to complete your ITR by March 31. Your ITR will also enable you to choose your courses this summer.
Please note: First-year students may receive a text from King's Enrolment Services regarding Intent to Register on March 21-22. This is a great chance for you to ask the Academic Advising Unit any questions you may have regarding ITR.

KAMP mentors are hosting peer-led ITR information sessions at the entrance of the Student Life Centre. Mentors will answer questions about ITR, share personal insights and experiences, and support students through the process.

Register for the Last Lecture for a Free Graduation Champagne Glass
The results are in! You have voted for Dr. Daniella Bendo, Assistant Professor in the department of Childhood and Youth Studies, to deliver the Class of 2023 Last Lecture. Following the lecture, the King's Alumni Association will host a reception with a champagne toast to your success. The first 75 students to register receive a special champagne glass. The Last Lecture is on March 30 in Kenny Theatre. You must attend to receive your glass.

King's Chamber Choir Spring Concert

King's University College Chamber Choir presents a moving program that explores the themes of struggle, empathy, and strength of the human spirit, featuring the uplifting cantata "I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes" by Adolphus Hailstork. Admission is by freewill donation, with proceeds to Christ the King University Parish Refugee Initiative. Ramadan
King's recognizes the importance of Ramadan to our Muslim students, faculty, and staff and has made special accommodations for this holy month.
King’s has scheduled a dedicated Ramadan exam room at King’s from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
The Muslim Prayer Rooms are on the lower level of the Wemple building.
Friday Congregation – Jumaa Prayer
The King's Muslim community is invited to join the Western Muslim Student Association (MSA) for Friday Congregation – Jumaa Prayer on Fridays at 1:30 p.m. in Wemple Room 057.

The King's Promise on What's Up London
Jenny Richmond-Bravo, Experiential Learning Coordinator and King's Promise Developer appeared on What's Up London, hosted by Jennifer Slay, '99, King's Director of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Decolonization, on March 13. Richmond-Bravo discussed the King's Promise, which guarantees students meaningful employment within the first six months post-graduation.

Dr. El Armali on the harm caused by unpaid taxes
In an article in The Catholic Register about how tax evasion harms the common good, Dr. Jafar El Armali, Assistant Professor of Economics, argues that unpaid taxes hinder a government's ability to produce public goods, which harms the overall economic welfare.

King's partners with Sally Ann
The Catholic Register published an article focusing on the King's Community Support Centre, a new partnership between King's and the Salvation Army's Centre of Hope, which gives six social work students hands-on experience.

Moon Time Sisters Campaign
The SJP Club is helping raise awareness about period equity and making period conversations inclusive of Two Spirit, trans and non-binary folx, particularly in support of Indigenous communities in the North. There are collection boxes where you can donate menstrual products all around campus (the Library, Alumni Court, and offices in Wemple, etc.) until March 31.

Mental Health and Wellness Resources at King's
CMHA offers after-hours crisis counselling for students virtually and in-person at Western until April 13 on Mondays and Thursdays from 5-9 p.m. To book an appointment, email CMHA.
You can access apps and online resources such as Good2Talk, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will find free, confidential support 24/7 by texting GOOD2TALKON to 686868 or by calling 1-866-925-5454. Good2Talk is available by phone or text and in English, French and Mandarin.
Students can also access Togetherall, a peer-to-peer platform to connect with others experiencing similar feelings. They have trained professionals on hand, which is free to King’s students.

Join us for Sunday Eucharist
Masses are offered on Sundays at 10 a.m. in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount. Mass is at 5 p.m. on Sundays and is followed by a community meal in the parish hall. Daily Mass is on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in The Chapel at Windermere.
New Chapel Access
You will now be able to access the Chapel through the main doors at Windermere on the Mount. Please note that masking is required to ensure compliance with current visitor regulations in effect for the retirement home while entering and exiting from the Chapel. Thank you for your ongoing cooperation in keeping our entire community safe.
Stations of the Cross
All are welcome to take part in Stations of the Cross on March 24, 2023, at 7 p.m. in The Chapel at Windermere on the Mount. This service will be led by the children and families of our parish.
Solidarity Sunday
Join us in the Parish Hall following the 10 a.m. Mass on March 26, 2023, for a solidarity meal of soup and bread, so that we might be in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in the Global South and find out more about this year's Share Lent campaign. If you are able to help support our solidarity soup by donating a pot of soup for our shared meal on Solidarity Sunday, please contact Annette at annette.donovanpanchaud@kings.uwo.ca.
Day of Confessions
Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we focus on our call to return to God with all our hearts. On Wednesday, March 29, 2023, along with parishes across the Diocese, we will hold a Day of Confessions. Father Peter Amszej will be at the Chapel at Windermere on the Mount from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Father Paul Baillargeon will be in Christ the King Chapel (in Wemple) from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
