Dear High School and Middle School Families,
If you attended Back to School Night, you may already be aware that LNC has recently partnered with Atrium Health to provide our students with school-based, virtual mental health therapy. Atrium Health partners with many area schools to bring this important in-school support to students over a virtual platform and we are excited that LNC students can now also benefit.
One of the best benefits of Atrium Health's virtual therapy program is that the sessions occur during the school day, minimizing logistical challenges and time away from class. Parents can conveniently connect to the therapy session as needed via phone or video conference. And services are completely confidential.
All Atrium Health providers are master level and licensed clinicians who are trained in working with students to treat a wide scope of mental health conditions. Our partnership with Atrium allows us to complete intakes within ten days of receiving a referral, ensuring students receive timely support.
Common conditions that Atrium Health provides support for include:
- Adjustment issues
- Anxiety
- Attention difficulties/trouble concentrating
- Classroom behavior issues
- Depression
- Grief
- Irritability
- Trauma
Should your student’s condition require medication, our clinicians are able to connect you to a prescribing provider.
If you feel that your student could benefit from mental health support, please reach out to his or her counselor to share your concerns. If it is determined that your child could benefit from this virtual therapy you will be referred to Atrium Health to begin the process. While there is an associated cost, many insurance policies cover virtual therapy. If you have questions about the program itself you may contact Ashley Wright at ashleywright@atriumhealth.org.
