Attention All Inventors in Grades K-5!!

Parents, if you are looking for a fun, creative, yet challenging program that integrates problem solving for your child, consider signing him/her up for the 2023-24 Invention Convention.

Participating in Invention Convention is a great opportunity for kids to sharpen their creative problem solving skills. Through the Invention League's Invention Convention Program your young inventor will be challenged to identify a problem, research an original solution, build a prototype and develop it into a marketable invention; he or she will evolve from inventor to an entrepreneur.

Students can work alone or in teams of two. Team members do not need to be in the same grade or in the same school.

The 2023-24 Delaware City Schools Invention Convention will be held in person. Inventors must have a finished project (completed journal, prototype of invention, and display board) and be ready for the judging competition on the morning of Thursday, March 21st.

* * School Lunch Reminders * *

There is a charge for school lunches/breakfast this year. Parents may add money to lunch accounts through PaySchools or by sending cash/check with the student in a sealed envelope. Students who have forgotten their lunch money are permitted to charge up to a maximum of $15 (See the food service website for meal costs and the full charging policy). Once a student exceeds their charging limit, an alternate meal will be provided. All families who currently have students with negative school lunch balances have been contacted by the food service staff.

If you believe you qualify for free or reduced meal benefits or you have any questions about our school lunch procedures, please contact our Food Service Office at 740-833-1868 or you can review and complete the meal benefits application online.
