looking for financial resources?

Would you like some assistance with learning ways to manage your finances, save money, or build your credit? These are just a few areas in which anyone may gain more knowledge, especially when preparing to buy a home. Luckily, there are several resources available to help.

  • CHFA-sponsored homebuyer education classes are provided by housing counseling agencies throughout Colorado. Classes are provided (in both English and Spanish) to help prospective homebuyers learn about credit, budgeting, and navigating the homebuying process.

  • Bank On Colorado works to connect everyone to safe and appropriate financial products and services. Bank On Colorado is a collaboration between the Colorado Department of Law’s Office of Financial Empowerment, financial institutions, community-based organizations, and local governments to ensure that all residents have the opportunity to be financially healthy.

  • Community Resources and Housing Development Corporation (CRHDC) offers a Financial Capability program in addition to CHFA-sponsored homebuyer education classes. CRHDC’s Financial Capability program is a combination of classroom education and one-on-one coaching, all free of charge. Learn financial terminology, best practices, budget planning, and more.

  • Operation Hope advances economic opportunity by providing the tools people need to reach their goals. They offer financial education, one-on-one coaching, courses on credit score improvement, as well as pathways toward homeownership and starting a business.

  • Office of Financial Empowerment and Protection strives to achieve economic mobility, financial equity and inclusion, and generational wealth for Denver residents through the integration of assistance finding city, state, and federal financial resources, as well as financial empowerment trainings.

The above are only a sampling of resources that may be available to you. Some additional options may be found by visiting the Financial Equity Coalition’s Resource Guide.
