Summer 2019
Thanks for an amazing 2019 festival season!
Each and every year, the PRISMA Festival is made possible by the generous support of our Members, Donors, Sponsors, Patrons, Volunteers, Board Members and the commitment of our dedicated staff.

We are so grateful to each and every one of them. Thank you!

... Did you hear about the (unplanned) Sail to the Symphony adventure?

"PRISMA or bust!"  🚤🛥🛳
Let’s just say that 17 patrons from the Comox Valley got the ultimate West Coast experience right before our matinée concert on Saturday, June 28.

So here’s the story:

We sold a record number of Sail to the Symphony Tour packages this year. (Plus, there were a few die-hard Islanders who were brave enough to chance it with only a concert ticket and no ferry reservation on the Comox-Powell River route.) When Brian Balfe, PRISMA’s founding sponsor, saw them standing forlornly at the ticket booth as the vessel (at capacity) was about to pull out, he wasn’t going to let them miss out on PRISMA. So he called a friend with a boat, hopped in his own boat, and ferried them all over himself!

Best of all:  🎫  They made it to the concert in time.  🐋  They saw whales on the way back.

...One patron even stowed her life jacket at our festival office!

Only at PRISMA!

Small world!

PRISMA 2018 alumna  Marie-Ange Boislard  (left) sent us this photo from the  Prague Summer Nights: Young Artists Music Festival , where she was recently studying and happened to meet another former student of ours – Alana Chan , who attended PRISMA in 2014.

How cool is that?!

MUSICAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

PRISMA aims to become one of the world’s premier symphony festivals and academies by attracting music students of the highest merit. Thanks to the generosity of the donors and foundations listed below – each of whom have agreed to make a five-year financial commitment, our Musical Merit Scholarship Fund (MMSF) has grown to $66,250 and resulted in 29 full and 35 partial scholarships being awarded to 64 deserving students who could not have otherwise afforded the cost of tuition for PRISMA 2019.
