Our Community

Meet Sergeant Sarah Malkowsky Sergeant Malkowsky is a new face around the North Houston District. Since June, she leads the proactive Harris County Sheriff’s Office Task Force created specifically for the North Houston District.

The task force was created to proactively improve safety in the community and combat criminal activity. “My role as supervisor is to ensure that the proper resources are available to accomplish our goals, and to communicate with the community about the best ways we can serve them,” says Malkowsky, who served as the first female on her SWAT team. The Curiosity Cruiser Comes to North Houston District

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, and to celebrate, the Harris County Public Library’s Curiosity Cruiser – A SUPER LIBRARY ON WHEELS – made the first of 12 visits to the Northpointe Apartment community here in the District. The state-of-the-art mobile library provides Houston children with access to books and exciting educational programs that integrate reading with science, math, technology, writing, and the arts. The Center for Energy & Environmental Research in the Hum an Sciences at Rice is conducting research on flooding in the Greens Bayou watershed.
