Spring has sprung in NHD
Get outside and explore our parks & trails
All the parks and trails along Greens Bayou are blooming and buzzing with life, and we invite everyone who lives and works in the North Houston District to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors.
Thanks to community partners, including the North Houston Development Corp., our area is quickly becoming one of Houston's greenest regions with bountiful parks and public attractions.

The North Houston District maintains more than 60 acres of parks and six miles of trails. Our team is committed to providing safe, walkable, runnable, playable outdoor environments where everyone can gather and enjoy time with family and friends.

Whether it's a lunch-hour jog or a Sunday stroll, there's something for everyone, from native gardens to sand volleyball courts, baseball and soccer fields, public pavilions, playgrounds, and even a future canoe launch. While each park has unique amenities and assets, every park features walking trails and benches.

Please, explore this spring. Get out there and find a new adventure! Please visit our website for park hours and information.
Have You Heard?
Mall construction has the rumor mill churning. Here's the real deal.
In July of 2021, the Houston City Council approved Summit at Renaissance Park, a 325-unit affordable housing complex on the Greenspoint Mall property. The four-story housing development will include modern amenities, retail components and up to four-bedroom units, which should appeal to families in the area. The new development is designed to serve as a housing alternative for citizens who are living in flood-prone areas along Greens Bayou. The project received incentives from the City of Houston tied back to Hurricane Harvey flood relief funds as part of the City Council’s ongoing commitment to ensuring Houstonians have safe, accessible housing. Updates will be provided as the construction progresses.

Please visit the developer’s website at ziebengroup.com for information
and renderings.

Construction Reminder
Greens Road Project Update
Since October 2020, the City of Houston has been working on a sewer infrastructure project that runs along Greens Road, causing traffic in the area. According to Houston Public Works, construction near Tom Wussow Park is complete, and the whole project should wrap in late summer 2022.

Expect near Greens Road and Imperial Valley for the next few weeks. Once the sewer project is complete, enhanced pedestrian crosswalks are planned at Greens Road and Imperial Valley. Check our latest edition of Quadrants for an update!

Updates will be shared as they become available. Visit the Houston Public Works website for more information, and stay safe!
