Since October 2020, the City of Houston has been working to replace a sewer main that runs along Greens Road and make infrastructure improvements near Tom Wussow Park, causing construction traffic in the area. According to Houston Public Works, the final phases of the project are underway, with completion expected late summer.
Construction crews are moving from east to west along Greens Road. Currently, crews are working near Greens Road and Wayforest Drive. This spring, crews are expected near Greens Road and Imperial Valley.
Highlights:
- Road closures and detours will continue through summer 2022.
- Tom Wussow Park is open and the YMCA is operating normally. The District is partnering with Houston Public Works to keep the park accessible all spring and summer.
- Once the sewer project is complete, enhanced pedestrian crosswalks are planned at Greens Road and Imperial Valley. Check our upcoming edition of Quadrants for the full story!
