Summer 2024 News

Advocating for local healthcare

The Airdrie Health Foundation (AHF) works strategically with various stakeholders and different levels of government to work towards enhancing health care for Airdrie and Area. The AHF feels strongly that Airdrie needs a hospital for our residents and will continue to work with stakeholders to ensure the healthcare needs of Airdrie are being met.

The AHF would like to not only see a hospital built within Airdrie, but also increase funding to much needed clinics and bring in services that currently are not available within Airdrie, such as a dialysis clinic, Home Parental Therapy Program (HPTP) clinic, asthma clinic and more.

The AHF most recently met with the Alberta Health Capital Planning team to express our concerns and give information on our needs within Airdrie. We expect to have a follow up in the near future.

If you would like to help in these efforts, please write to your MLA and health minister. Letters really do help!

Your gifts at work

Thank you to the Airdrie and District Community Foundation for providing funding for a Cast Cutter and AED Trainer.

The cast cutter removes the need to travel for this follow up care and the AED Trainer provides local health care staff valuable simulation training for cardiac arrest responses.

A Smiling Success

Smile Cookie numbers are in!!

Our local Tim Hortons raised $62,024.02 in support of enhancing health care for Airdrie and surrounding communities. We want to thank Tim Hortons and their team for their continued support and commitment for supporting Airdrie's highest priority health care needs. 100% of the proceeds go to the Airdrie Health Foundation to invest in local healthcare.

We also want to thank our cookie decorating volunteers for all their help and support. With 152 volunteer shifts filled over the week, there were plenty of smile cookies to sell.

Thank you to all those that stopped by a local Tim Hortons and purchased Smile Cookies in efforts to support health care in our community!

Your support also affords bragging rights to three of our local Tim Horton's locations whose Smile Cookie sales were #1, #2 and #3 amongst locations in the Southern Alberta region. Way to go!
