August 2022 Monthly Update:

The Mayor at Summer Camp & a new look for the old Rainey house

Mayor Bibb visits Summer Camp

Rainey was thrilled to host Mayor Justin Bibb for Tea Time on the last day of camp! Mr. Titus interviewed Mayor Bibb during the Rainey News segment and discussed how he is making an impact on our city. Thank you Mayor Bibb for being an inspiration to our students!

Restoration of the Old Rainey House

Countless Rainey alumni remember the old house on East 55th and Superior. Sounds of steps on the stairs, home-cooked meals eaten on the front steps, and pottery classes in the basement are core memories for so many Cleveland youth. For many years the house has sat empty. Now, thanks to a $500,000 grant from the National Park Service, the house will be used again. The organization behind this transformation, The Cliquepoint Data Foundation, educates youth about online safety and supports STEM initiatives for underrepresented communities. Funds from this grant will be used to rehabilitate the space while preserving its history, and the building will eventually become a co-working space.
