2024-2025 Committee Membership
Registration for 2024-2025 Bar Committees is open, so sign up today! Active member involvement is the core of our Bar Association.
Committee membership supports and strengthens our professional lives and builds relationships that unite our community. Bar committee participation is a great way for new lawyers to grow and advance professionally while benefiting from the experience and wisdom of other Bar members. Additionally, Bar committees often provide opportunities to meet and collaborate with members of the Judiciary on matters of importance. It is also the prime pathway to Bar leadership.
PLEASE NOTE: Even Bar members currently serving on Bar committees must reaffirm their interest by completing a committee registration form either online or by mail. Members interested in serving on a Bar committee receive the most benefit if they are active members, attend regular meetings, and participate in committee projects and events.
To register for a Bar committee for the July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 year, please click here and enter your Bar ID number and password.

Our department receives hundreds of calls every month and, in turn, those seeking legal assistance receive referrals through the programs that most suit their needs and eligibility. Many others receive pertinent information or referrals to other offices and agencies. To see the break down of these calls, click here or on the image above.
We are extremely grateful for our members participation in each of these public service programs.

Lots of folks think they have their business data backed up, if they’re using a cloud drive software, like Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox. Now, that’s partly true. In that case, Google and Microsoft and Dropbox , have a backup of your data – but, what if you can’t access any of those tools? You don’t have access to your files, is what happens. And, that means that you don’t really have a backup, at all. How do you fix that? It’s pretty straightforward. First, utilize an online, incremental data backup tool, to mirror what appears in your primary drive. Second, buy and update an encrypted physical drive, to store your corpus of documents there, too. That way, you can get your files, if you can’t access your primary tool, and even if you can’t get online.
This tech tip is brought to you by the Bar Association’s Law Practice Management Consultant, Jared Correia, of Red Cave Law Firm Consulting. If you need help with billing, client relations, data management, financial management, marketing, office technology, time management, disaster prevention & recovery, or any other area related to managing your practice, Red Cave Law Firm Consulting will provide Rhode Island Bar Association members with unlimited virtual consulting services (email, telephone, chat, video) FREE OF CHARGE.
