New Kitchen Updates
We have taken our meals up to a new level! We now have lunch buffets every day of the week. The buffets consist of up to 16 different items from several types of salads, fruit and veggie platters, hot sandwiches and more! We have also introduced a fish fry night as well as a hamburger BBQ night up at our beautiful Strawberry Fields overlooking Spring Lake. Everything is included whether you take the riding or non riding packages. You will come for the riding and stay for the food!

New Events With Our Horses
The Flying U is the last unguided riding ranch in Canada and we are proud of our 100 year heritage. To keep everyone safe out there we have added a riding and safety orientation program. This is for every guest (new or returning) to attend before they can head out on the trails alone. Our orientations cover navigation, safety, rider etiquette, trail and map orientations, and modern GPS aids you need to know before you tackle our 60,000 acres of trails.
After the orientation each new guest joins a morning trail ride. These trail rides, which are led by one of our wranglers, are to help new riders get acquainted with their horses and learn how to control and direct them. This leads to more confident riders and more enjoyment out on the trails.
New this year for our more experienced riders, we have also added afternoon barrel racing right here at the ranch! We have set up our own private gymkhana grounds and at 2pm you can go down with one of our wranglers and test your speed around the barrels.

New Full Time Activities Director
Ariel
Ariel Stevenson has joined our team here at the ranch as our camp and activities director! Ariel has been a long time returning guest here at the ranch which made it easy for her to jump right in. As more and more families are vacationing at the ranch, Ariel does the children activities, nature walks, archery, movie nights and waterfront activities. She is also an experienced horseback rider and helps out on our trail rides. She loves working with the kids, she loves horses and she loves the great outdoors!

Additional Summer Activities at the Ranch
We now have fireside music once a week with our wonderful neighbours from across the lake, Jack and Bob! They join us after dinner with their guitars and sing with the guests around the fire pit. There is group singing as the guests love to join in as well as roasting marshmallows and making smores.
Yoga on the dock has been a huge hit this year. Once summer arrived we moved the morning yoga sessions from the inside of the lodge to out on the dock and the guests can not stop raving about it! We have a wonderful yoga instructor named Paul who runs our yoga sessions.
New this year at the waterfront is water skiing lessons for youth who are 15 years and older. It's a skill set that they can learn here at the Flying U that they will have for the rest of their lives. Our boat drivers are very good at helping the kids stand up on the skis on their very first try.
We have introduced Karaoke on Friday evenings in the lodge! This is your chance to belt out your favourite song as a solo act or in a group! Can't hold a tune? Not to worry, what happens at the Flying U stays at the Flying U.

New Boat Cruises
For a century guests have come to love the ranch for its prime location on Green Lake, the crown jewel of the Cariboo. The Flying U continues to capitalize on this by adding waterfront activities every year. This summer we have added a new boat which can make up to 14 guests out for an evening sunset cruise. Now we have swimming, diving, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, tubing, waterskiing and now sunset cruises. Its all included whether you choose riding or non riding packages.

This August we are offering great non riding vacations packages at a huge savings. You get to stay in one of our deluxe tents. You get all the amenities that the riding packages offer but without the horses: three sumptuous lodge meals daily, archery, yoga, canoeing, movies in the theatre, evening campfire with music, waterfront swimming, diving, tubing and a lot more! Bring the family, bring the dog. Prices start at $399.00 per person for three nights or just $699.00 for 6 nights. Special discounts for the kids. Children 4 and under and dogs are free. This special is available for new stays booked from August 9 to August 31 only.
