Interim 2010-2020 Intercensal Population Estimates

Due to a high number of inquiries, the Texas Demographic Center has produced the Interim 2010-2020 Intercensal Population Estimates for the State of Texas, it’s counties, and cities. Intercensal estimates are produced each decade by adjusting the existing time series of postcensal estimates for a decade to smooth the transition from one decennial census count to the next.

Higher Education Boosts Earnings at Every Level

On National Higher Education Day, observed on June 6, we used U.S. Census Bureau ACS data to highlight the substantial wage benefits for Texans who pursued higher education on our social media platforms.

Texans with Bachelor's degrees earn $27K more than high school graduates. Individuals with a Ph.D. earn 3.5 times more than those without a degree. These earnings multiply over a lifetime with expanded opportunities.

The U.S. Census Bureau released new data products from the Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS), a survey that measures business conditions and projections on an ongoing basis. The BTOS includes data for multiunit/multilocation businesses.

The U.S. Census Bureau recently released a new report that provides a comparison of spouses in same-sex and opposite-sex married couples. Estimates distinguish men in same-sex marriages from women in these unions to examine whether the experiences and living arrangements of same-sex spouses are consistent across sex.
