We are excited to announce a new study for the beginning of the church year. Starting on Wednesday, September 4, we will be having a conversation on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus. The book entitled “Practicing the Way: Be with Jesus, Become Like Him, Do as He Did” takes a look at the essential practices of those who follow Jesus. We will discuss prayer, the role of the Sabbath, and more.

We will make copies of the book available for $15 at the church. If you want to get a copy now, it is available in all the normal places like Amazon and Christian Book Distributor, among others. There are also versions for Kindle and E-readers if you prefer to read that way. Let Jeff know if you have any questions.

Pictorial Directory photo shoot!

It was a great weekend for our church. A big shout-out to everyone who participated. We look forward to getting the printed directories soon!

For those families unable to have their pictorial directory photo taken this past weekend, there are two remaining opportunities to have your photo taken and included in the directory. Richard Flowers, our resident photographer, has agreed to take pictures after worship on Sunday, September 8th, and Sunday, September 15th. Those photos will appear online for free, however there will be a small fee to purchase a physical copy.

For families that aren't available for the after-worship photo sessions, contact the church no later than September 13th if you still want to have your family included in the Pictorial Directory.

Girl Scout Troop 10164 needs your help!

We have a service project we are doing. As a way to celebrate our birthdays, we will be donating a “Birthday in a Bag” to those who may have difficulty providing a birthday cake on a special day. If you are able please donate one of the following:

A box of cake mix (any kind)
A container of icing (any flavor)
A disposable aluminum cake pan

The troop is providing additional items that will be sorted and assembled to into a gift of birthday supplies for someone in need.

Items will be collected on Wednesday night, September 11 in hopes to create 18 Birthdays in a Bag! Thank you for your support and any donations you are can give.

REALM LAUNCHES THIS MONTH!

Hey everyone, have you heard the news - Realm is live! Our church is making big advances in how we stay connected and engaged. We're introducing a new tool called "Realm" that's going to revolutionize how we communicate and give back. Realm lets you manage your info securely, control your donations, and stay connected with all our groups in real time.

If you're part of our church family, you're going to find it really helpful. An invitation has gone out to the email addresses we have on file. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam folder. If you still don’t see it, we may not have the most up-to-date email. Please let us know your preferred email address.

Please note that If you need help, our team will be here every Wednesday and Sunday for the next few weeks to walk you through any question you might have. We will help you with everything from setting up your profile to updating your information. We think it is important to have face-to-face conversations when you have questions. Our team is excited to be here and help.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD August Donations

Whistles

For the month of August, we're asking everyone to bring whistles. Children use whistles to signal for help when they encounter a dangerous animal and to herd their livestock.

Our goal for August is 300 whistles. A bin is available in the Gathering Place with an OCC sign requesting that you place your whistles. Thank you for donating in the name of Jesus!
