Farmcrest Video with Chris Fritsch

The video above was previously shared with residents on Kincaid, S. Farmcrest and N. Farmcrest

as part of our ongoing commitment to keeping residents informed throughout each phase

of the Amberley Village Accelerated Streets Program (ASP).

Join Amberley Village Project & Zoning Administrator Chris Fritsch for a behind-the-scenes tour and narration of work underway on Farmcrest & Kincaid as part of the Amberley Village Accelerated Streets Program.

An estimated timeline has been included below, but residents are cautioned that this information is highly subject to change. Please visit our website for regular updates and revisions to the schedule.

About the Accelerated Streets Program

Village Council has long held its street programs as a high priority for Amberley Village and in 2021 adopted an 8-year resurfacing plan dubbed the Accelerated Street Program (ASP). The multi-year plan will increase the amount spent on our street programs from approximately $400,000 to an average of $845,000 per year, or $6.7 million over the 8-year span. The intent of the ASP is to bring the condition of our streets up to a preventative maintenance level.

Free Kia Steering Wheel Locks Available

for Amberley Village Residents

Amberley Village Police-Fire Department has received a limited number of free steering wheel locks from Kia to address the increasing number of Kia thefts. In the past several weeks alone, four Kia vehicles have been stolen from Amberley Village residences as part of a nationwide surge in thefts. Kia is also offering free enhanced security software upgrades to eligible Kia drivers via local Kia dealerships.

The wheel locks are available at local law enforcement agencies, so our quantity is available to Amberley Village residents only, and proof of address and registration is required. There are a limited number, so the wheel locks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please contact Amberley Village Police-Fire Department with any questions at 513-531-2040, or visit your local Kia dealer.

PLEASE NOTE: Kias at risk are those with a key start manufactured between the years 2010 - 2022.

Proposed Expansion to Dog Regulations

Would Add Extra Hour Off-Leash

At the May 8 meeting of council, Amberley Village Public Buildings & Parks Committee will recommend minor changes to dog regulations at Amberley Green. Arbor Day/Earth Day Celebration

to view full proclamation

Amberley Village celebrated Arbor Day/Earth Day with the planting of a Legacy sugar maple tree at the Municipal Building grounds along Section Road near the walking track. Mayor Tom Muething (above, left) read a proclamation (click image at left for full-size document), and members of the Environmental Stewardship Committee (pictured above) participated in a ceremonial tree planting to mark the occasion.

Amberley Village has been designated as a Tree City USA for 19 years, in part because of its annual Arbor Day Celebration. Additional criteria includes maintaining a tree board or department, having a community tree ordinance, and spending at least $2 per capita on urban forestry. The Tree City USA designation is directly aligned with the Village commitment to preserving the natural beauty that makes our community so special. This year's Tree City designation was accompanied by a Growth Award!

Learn more about the strength of our environmental commitment by attending an upcoming meeting of the Environmental Stewardship Committee (see story below or visit the Village calendar), attending one of our Clean Amberley or nature walk events (see below), or contacting the Village Administration office at 513-531-8675 for more information.

Amberley Village Police

Recognize Autism Awareness Month

Amberley Village Police Department recognized April as Autism Awareness Month with a special badge that incorporated the Autism puzzle design. Officers wore the badges all month long as an outward display of their commitment to working with residents of all walks of life, including those with special needs.

Amberley Village officers and Village staff have undergone training specific to the sensitivities of individuals on the Autism spectrum, and regularly attend trainings to combat implicit bias and to better understand the community we serve. Amberley Village also implements specially-designed badges in honor of Breast Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis throughout the year.

Drug Takeback Day Collects Nearly

20 Pounds of Unused Prescriptions

On Saturday, April 22, Amberley Village Police Department collected 18.6 lbs of unused or expired prescriptions as part of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.

National Take Back Day is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. But did you know that Amberley Village accepts unused and expired prescriptions all year long?

Residents can bring their unused prescriptions to Amberley Village Dispatch anytime 24/7. Pills must be removed from prescription bottles and placed in plastic zip-lock bags before they can be accepted. Amberley Village will also accept vaping devices and cartridges, however, devices containing lithium-ion batteries cannot be accepted. If batteries cannot be removed prior to drop-off, residents are encouraged to consult with stores that recycle lithium-ion batteries.

For questions and additional information regarding safe disposal of unwanted or expired drugs, contact Amberley Village Police Department at 513-531-2040.
