WESTERN MASS LABOR ACTION

Our Dinner and Auction is Saturday, November 6th at Crissey Farm in Great Barrington from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. It's $75 a plate and $500 for a table of eight. It will be a silent auction, a live auction and a dinner. We are taking COVID precautions by requiring a proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 48 hours. Any chance the Chamber could send a table of eight?

Our door-to-door canvass goes out every Saturday and is a full day of volunteering. We do an orientation and office tour in the morning at 9:30. We are seeking out families at risk of eviction so we can attach them to the rental assistance that the state has in its possession but is not distributing. Plus we're letting families know about upcoming distributions of holiday food and gifts.

Anyone interested in either activity can call me at (413) 443-9862. We're open seven days a week from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

What is home to you? Could any question be more fundamental? The Mount's Susan Wissler is among the many voices answering this question in the new book HOME: A CELEBRATION by Charlotte Moss. One of Moss’s inspirations for this project is Edith Wharton’s The Book of the Homeless (1916), a successful fundraising effort that aided refugees and children during the First World War. In the spirit of Wharton, a portion of the profits will benefit the organization No Kid Hungry. Register online at EdithWharton.org.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
