As per terms required by the proposed Settlement agreement (for full instructions click here) Nebraska REALTORS® Association has been updating existing forms and adding additional forms to keep you compliant with the terms of this settlement.

You will see two new forms and two updated forms and training videos for each form. We highly recommend that you watch these videos before you use the forms. These forms will all be released on all four forms providers (ZipForms, FormSimplicity, DotLoop & SkySlope) on July 31st, 2024.

Again, we ask that you watch the videos before using the forms. There will be a feedback button on the bottom of the page, and we ask for you to share any constructive feedback on these forms and others. We feel confident that we have taken the terms of the Settlement into consideration to protect you when you use these forms; however, we can still use more partitioners to help us make these forms more usable.

Heads Up Nebraska REALTORS®!

Governor Pillen has called a special session beginning today, July 25, 2024, to address the growing property tax issue in Nebraska.

He has stated that “everything is in play” including many things that may affect your day to day lives. The most significant threat to our industry is the sales tax on services. Throughout this entire process, Governor Pillen has been playing his cards very closely to his chest as shown by releasing his Tax Plan Table around 10:00 PM the night before the Special Session. We are still digesting this but wanted to share it with you. As we learn more, we will let you know.

IMPLEMENT PRACTICE CHANGES BY AUGUST 17

August 17 is the deadline for practice changes required by the NAR’s settlement. Don’t delay—get details about the changes, including new rules around offers of compensation and written buyer agreements.

The Home Buyer's Assistance Foundation (HBAF) Board of Directors is seeking applications. The HBAF Director position is a 3-year term and would begin January 1, 2025.

HBAF is a nonprofit organization with a mission to support first-time home buyers in Nebraska, with an emphasis on low and moderate income individuals and communities. The foundation also works to offer housing relief to communities affected by natural disaster.
