Compassionate Community

Many thanks to our friends with the The Piankatank Community League in Harcum for supporting our homeless pets! At right, Lona Trebour, secretary of the league, presented Caitlin Donnelly, Communications and Development Coordinator for GMHS, with a $300 donation.

Thank you to Isaac, Penn, and Nora! They sold hot chocolate to raise money for our homeless pets! We are blown away by your kindness. Thank you all so much!

Ella was transferred into the care of GMHS this month from another shelter after being found as a stray. She came in with her 2 day old puppies named Isabella, Gabriella, and Stella.

Your donation enables us to provide shelter and care for all pets in need, including puppies, while they await adoption.

Your sustainable gift makes our life-saving mission possible, and we thank you for your support!

Shelter Pet Spotlight - Sandy

Sandy is currently livin' it up in a foster home, but he would LOVE to find his forever home! He is a diabetic cat that is on special food and medication, but does not require insulin so long as the adopter keeps up with his weight loss. Check out what his foster has to say about him!

"He runs around the house and loves to be around us at all times, it’s very sweet. He is a very sweet boy, always curious about everything. He is able to sprint up the stairs, jump onto the bed! He is a cuddler, he loves to sleep in our bed with us and refuses to use a cat bed. He becomes a kitten when it comes to wand toys and chases after his toys. He’s not big on being held but loves his pets and wants to constantly be with us, he talks a lot when he knows it’s time for dinner and meds. Thank you for rescuing him, glad I am able to step in and help him too!"
