BevTech Latin America® 2021 will be held in a virtual format.

This alternative "venue" will allow many beverage professionals from every country in Latin America or from other regions in the world to learn more about ISBT technical conferences. Consider participating as a speaker with a Spanish presentation or as a student, without the challenges or restrictions of traveling during the current situation.

We are looking for speakers on the following topics:
  • Sustainable processes in beverage production
  • New safety strategies for the "new normal”
  • Innovative trends on flavors and ingredients
  • NitroCoffee and crafted beverages
  • Fermentation technologies

In addition, we are interested in technologies which meet the 2025 sustainability targets of the Canada Plastics Pact.

Presentation topics in line with our theme will be prioritized for consideration by the committee, but we invite you to submit other topics as well.

Did You Know... about the ISBT?
Logo: In 1999, The “Annual Meeting” was formally renamed “BevTech” to better represent the technical content of the Presentations and Technical Committees. Use of our current logo began in 2017.

Website: The original ISBT website, www.bevtech.org, was created in 2001. We learned that the International Society of Blood Transfusion had beaten us to the isbt.com address. Other ISBTs are International Senior Bowling Tour, Inter-State Bus Terminal, and Iowa State Bank and Trust.

Proceedings Improvements:
  • Good: The Society began sending out printed proceedings from the Annual Meeting.
  • Better: The Society switched to sending out CDs of BevTech proceedings instead of printed versions in 2001.
  • Best: The Society changed from CDs to online posting of BevTech proceedings on the Society’s website in 2009.

Cost Management: In the 1990s, the Board of Directors was worried that if hotel rooms cost more than $100 a night, people may stop attending. This led to a long-term contract with the Ft. Lauderdale Marriott to freeze the price. This pricing target of $100 was later shattered at the Nashville conference in 2002.

Milestone in 2002 – Tony Meushaw, the 2nd Executive Director (ED) and President of the SSDT in 1980, passed away. Early in his career, he worked for Harry Korab, the 1st ISBT Executive Director, at ABCB (ED was part-time back then). Tony was a “bottler”, working for the 7UP of Southern California group.

Technology Advancement: The first email version of the ISBT newsletter was sent on Oct 4, 2002.
